Alan thanks for the caputre of the pied wagtail in the nest. He looks so tiny but it does illustrate how big osprey nests are.

Looking through the blog, I see they are running a Competition:
"As you have probably noticed, the Manton Bay webcam is now online. The person who sends us the first screen grab from the camera showing an Osprey will receive two free Osprey cruise tickets. So be sure to check it at regular intervals over the coming days! By way of a hint, 5R returned on 27th March last year…"
The osprey cruises on Rutland Water run during the summer, and are well worth doing - see under the "Things to do" tab for details.
Talk about heart in my mouth ............... I switched to Rutland cam and TWO Wood pigeions were patrolling the nest !! Just for a nano second , they got me going there.
Sue - how would I have got a pic to the centre had they been Ospreys?
Cirrus : Yesterday there was a pied wagtail and 2 Egyptian geese on the nest and today pigeons. What next?
Is this the Egyptian goose?
Yes Cirrus. It looks too much at home for my liking.
