Weekly Chat, Sunday January 9, 2010

Busy all day - will catch up tomorrow. Have a good Sunday all (don't forget to check last pages of previous thread. Somebody has been posting photos of puppies again!)

  • Hi Kelloggs many thanks for the captures of Lily and Hope and also the eagles.  Managed to see Lily and Hope late afternoon our time and they seemed to be quite active and vocal.

  • Alan that is such a good photo of the robin, handsome to say the least.

  • Morning all,

Lynette : Thanks for the deer pics and of course Phoebe who had over 500 viewers at one point yesterday. She certainly brightens up these dark January days.

Kellogs : Thanks for the Lily and Hope pic. I seem to always miss them.

There were 2 raccoons sleeping in the eagles nest at Fort St Vrain last night so looks like trouble there. No idea what is happening at Dunedin Florida but an osprey has been spotted on the Panama City nest cam in Florida.

Meanwhile here on Tracy Island weather is dreich and dull but dry with temp at 11.3c.

Morning to you also Margo. I will be off out soon and will catch up later.

  • Good morning to all not mentioned in earlier posts.  Just a quick look in and read as usual on Saturday.  Off to Rhys' party later today.

Lindybird hope you are not feeling to unwell, it will be a shame if you can't get to see Sweet Pea.

Bit dryer here today but very windy but at least that is helping to dry out the garden a bit and even managed to sweep a bit of the bird patio which has been under water all week.

Hope you all have a good weekend and take care.

  • Hullo all! Sorry I haven’t posted much lately, but it has been the same old ame old - absolutely chaotically (is that a real word) busy at work and also I’m bit under the weather, nothing too bad (so can’t stay home) just sore throat, running (or crawling?) nose and dry cough. I also have noted that when tired I’m more timid with my language skills - even I DO know I don’t have to worry about it here, sorry… And now I stop moaning!

Thank you all for chat, pics etc. Winter is very much still present here, February is often the most wintry month, but days are getting longer bit by bit which is great ‘cause I just adore sun light this time of year ( and months to come). In the northern part of Finland sun is going to reappear tomorrow after several months of “no sun” - it will be above horizon about 20 minutes! So what am I complaining about darkness here LOL. Can’t reply all comments from this weeks thread but here are some : Diane, hope you have a wonderful time with your friends and their four legged family members. And I am absolutely sure that that red-tailed hawk wanted to give you a heads-up re your car tyre, shivers (good ones) went down my spine when reading that! Great that GeorgeG is thinking of getting a furry companion, let us know what you decide. Am so pleased to read the improvement with Margo’s sister, been thinking of you lot ( and still am and will be). So happy that AQ doesn’t live at that flooded area in Oz, but my heart goes out for those who do. Sure that Linda enjoys her visit to cuddle Thomas (sp?) . Dibnlib, I have always have had a soft spot for men in uniforms ;) Please stay safe, warm, dry etc everyone! See you later!

  • 2 eaglets now at Jordan Lake:

  • Caught up again with your news.

AQ - of course Easter eggs are on sale, they usually put the small creme-like eggs out straight after Christmas here.   Was at one of our shopping areas this morning and noticed that small boxed eggs were also around.

Talking of shopping went into our local Bon Marche and bought a skirt, 2 tops and a jacket in the sale - not bad.  I don't usually get out to the sales so it was a bonus for me as daughter had to go to the local shopping centre near us.

Pics of Phoebe, Peregrine at Derby, Eagle at Maryland, and Lily's den.

  • Hello all  Thanks for pics, etc.  Have been reading but not posting.  Very sad this evening.  Our dear friends have had to say good bye to their Border Collie, our Nell's younger brother.  He would have been 15 in March.  Makes us very aware of Nell's advanced age.  Goodnight/morning or whatever time it is where you are.  'See' you all tomorrow.
