HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I hope everyone has a good week.
Winter has arrived on my patch. We had 2.5 inches (6.35 centimeters) of snow with 40 mph wind gusts on Thursday. It has melted now.
I left a carrot in the opening of the groundhog's burrow before the storm, but he didn't eat it. He's probably gone into hibernation. I left his carrot, in case we get the brief warm up predicted for Sunday and Monday.
I laughed this morning. Even with the cold, there was a lone surviving super mosquito flying around my bedroom.
Love and hugs to everyone!
Pat O said:I'm a bit concerned it's still so painful, so may need to get someone to take me to the Minor Injuries Clinic at our local hospital if it persists.
OH Dear not good, even if like me bungalow, do get checked, just in case, as you dont want arthritis to set in Bless You.
Incidentally, My BT phone needed changing, and after an horrendous increase, ( Everyone said No Way) so spoke to another person, who said BT amalgamating for personal customers next year, and did a cheap deal for Mobile phone and did away with Landline,
NOW no need to dash out of seat if phone goes as its beside me, soon ensured all who needed to know land number, everyone now happy with Mobile.
Maybe worth considering.
Take care, Hugs and Prayers
LINDY - My sitting room and dining room have the dreaded brown mahogany furniture - reproduction style. You can't give it away these days . At the back of the house, the small family room, the kitchen and the conservatory are modern !! Oh well ....
Morning all and thanks to Diane. I know you have carrots on hand for when the groundhog wakes up in the spring. Mosquitoes not a big problem here due to the general low humidity; we do get warned about standing water in the summer though (pots, etc.)
Heather: I have a scan every year to keep an eye on something that has never developed into anything other than an oddity. Also, niece in UK has just had a scan for a nodule on her lung that has turned out to be same kind of oddity. Hope small annoyances not a result of clueless Danish males. :-).
PatO: Yes indeed, t's amazing that spontaneous everyday moves can suddenly go pear-shaped. Hope it's nothing more than a nasty sprain.
SunnyKate: We still have a landline (OH can't negotiate cell phones) and it goes all day with spam calls.... Sigh.
First rain of the season shut down Highway 101 immediately north of us for hours yesterday when multiple minor accidents created a string of problems including the most minor (in terms of injuries) which knocked a power pole and live cables across all the lanes.
Thank you, SunnyKate. I have thought about doing away with the landline, but at the moment I think I have to have it for the internet access. Must look into it. It would be a real pain if I do have to change it, as my number is all over the place, in directories etc. But I believe we are all going to have to deal with huge changes in phone lines. I suppose I will have to work out what to do soon. Although I'm very twenty-first century in many things such as computers, I'm a dinosaur when it comes to mobile phones! I don't want to be available all the time! Happy to receive about fifty e-mails a day, which I deal with quickly when I'm in - but don't want to know about when I'm out! So I have moved to a 'dumb' phone which is switched off and in my handbag most of the time. The pain in my left ankle is very much better, but that might change when I strip off the flight socks! I will monitor it carefully and if it's still giving me trouble I'll get it looked at in the next couple of days.
