HAPPY NEW WEEK!

I hope everyone has a good week.

My forest looked quite mystical this past week. Freezing fog hung in the trees and frost covered the ground. It's turning warm again now, but the wildlife are very actively hunting for food. They are eating heartily to put on weight in order to make it through the winter. The groundhog needs to double his weight to survive the long hibernation. I seem to be constantly hungry, too! LOL

Love and hugs to all.

  • Finally, my two favourites:

  • Diane - Thank you.  I haven't got much money and I really don't need anything that does more than calls and texts.  I did take a few photographs on my current phone (which incidentally is a Samsung) but I prefer my camera.  I don't do anything else - my laptop is the workhorse!  My techie guru has offered me a dumb phone which he will show me how to use, and by going PAYG with one company we each get £15 credit.  So I think that's what I'm going to do.

  • PAT: sounds like a very wise decision!

  • Thursday no big drama really, just frustration. I visited OH but first I needed to pay a small sum as daily fees had increased since I paid for 2 months’ respite in advance. I had received a new bankcard, activated it as instructed and of course it didn’t work. I saw OH whose glasses were missing. I asked staff – “oh, they were missing yesterday”. Then they brought seven (!) strayed glasses, none of which were OH’s. He recently had his eyes checked and the new glasses are due “next Tuesday”. I shall go in and attempt to label the thin wire frames he wanted. He has an old hand-knitted very soft cardigan that he loves. I found it shrunken to a child’s size 6, despite me having said I would bring knitteds home to wash. I can salvage the buttons for another cardigan but I think it is too felted to be much use even for the Dogs Home. Detoured on way home to bank where a bored teller attended to my card. Yesterday I had my annual mammogram (results next Wed) and I visited PO to pay a bill with the new card. It worked! Several phone calls filled the afternoon and just before tea another that OH had fallen on his bottom (not using his walker, again). Today there was an email I hadn’t seen (I close computer at teatime) - a locum had seen OH and he was OK. As arranged I met Dau#1 halfway with her birthday gift which I forgot when I saw her last, then on to visit Dau#2 and Trio as I had some shopping for them. Dau has little spare time to visit multiple shops as she is studying & training for paid work. It was lovely to see Trio and chat about their craft, books, etc. I came home for lunch with a headache (too much driving), slept all afternoon. It’s 28 C, no rain predicted, I should be watering, maybe another day. Ii’s Saturday? I feel as if it is Sunday……

  • @AQ, so sorry to read of all your ongoing, drama's. Quite why technology is sooooo complicated betas me Ha! and if you then have to cope with a bored person to assist ,is really annoying.

Thank goodness , hope, Hubby is not fully aware of his health issues, but so  very sad for you to witness Bless you. What is it, someone  said," getting old is not for cissies"

Pleased you had time with your Daughters, and hope you have an easier day today.

    Big hugs and prayers

  • AQ   SUNNY KATE2  A friend who is a nurse said they call it the relatives illness..........they are so right

  • Oh AQ - that sounds so hard. Thank goodness you could meet up with your daughter and trio. No wonder you needed a sleep. It is important to look after yourself too.

Regarding technology - (imagine sweary words here)  I got full fibre broadband installed by BT back in the summer. All good. Prior to the engineer’s visit, BT send me a piece of equipment which would be needed. Fine. The engineer brought one with him! BT wanted the other one back and sent me a bag to send it in. I did that. On my bill (online) they say I have still got it and have charged me £30. I have got a certificate of posting. I decided to ring this morning. The queue was an hour long!!! I gave that up. I tried an online chat but was told that they couldn’t deal with my problem. I looked all over the website and nowhere is there an email address or message box where I could send a query to, I really don’t want to waste an hour hanging on the phone so am at an impasse!! I might try to ring on a weekday afternoon when the queue might be shorter. So different from the O2 shop yesterday when I dealt with a very nice “real person”

End of rant. I am going into the garden to scrape up leaves and make leaf mould a la Monty Don!!!!

  • nightmare RUSTY.

I managed to get Benson walked before the heavy rain and what joy, we bumped into a 3month old "Goldie" called Murphy, he is fairly local so hope to see him growing up.
