HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I hope everyone has a good week.
My forest looked quite mystical this past week. Freezing fog hung in the trees and frost covered the ground. It's turning warm again now, but the wildlife are very actively hunting for food. They are eating heartily to put on weight in order to make it through the winter. The groundhog needs to double his weight to survive the long hibernation. I seem to be constantly hungry, too! LOL
Love and hugs to all.
I've never been to Erddig. Hope you enjoyed.
I agree about Aus -- as I said to my OH "Well, at least she won't be dragged away and never heard of again! " as would happen in many countres. Dont think a lot of people appreciate that we have Freedom of Speech and how precious it is.
I managed to get a phone conversation with a Doctor this morning but of course she would like to examine me, so we managed to make an appointment to suit, which will now be Thursday.
Yesterday I slept for an hour and a half in the afternoon, and today it was a solid hour. Maybe I'm sleeping it off!!
A surprise visitor to supermarket.
A: Our Costco has at least one grackle that's made itself at home in the store (although I haven't seen him recently). He would poke about on the floor, completely unfazed by shoppers.
ANNETTE - A grackle? I had to Google it. Interesting that a group of grackles is known as a plague.
My recent “plague” of noisy miners has fortunately finished breeding or moved on or someone illegally wrung their (protected species) necks.
Lindy - I hope all that sleeping is helping you to feel better. I enjoyed the various bits of bird news from Aus and California.
Or visit to Erddig yesterday was really good. We had mild, sunny weather and the autumn colours were gorgeous. We strolled round the formal gardens before our picnic lunch and then split up. One lady went on the apple tour (Erddig is very famous for all the rare variety of apple trees it has) some energetic people went for a long walk in the woods and the rest of us walked to see the famous cup and saucer arrangement which controls the stream through the estate. This is the famous pleached lime trees in their autumn splendour

A few more photos including dahlias
Wonderful pics Rusty thank you.
Looks as if it was a great outing Rusty. Thanks for the pictures!
Dry here and I found my OH teetering on a ladder, cleaning out the gutters with a piece of wood & a bucket! (We are in a bungalow) I asked him which Hospital A&E he preferred me to take him to when he fell, but he didnt laugh! <sigh>
