The moon turns full on Tuesday night (17 September) in the US and early Wednesday morning in the UK. It's a very close supermoon, so it should be beautiful. A partial lunar eclipse will be at maximum right after the moon becomes full.
The autumn equinox is next Sunday, 22 September.
You can find the exact times for the full moon, the eclipse, and the equinox by putting your town or city name in the search box at www.timeanddate.com. It's a safe site.

Diane: Hope you've managed to start organizing things and feel more positive and comfortable with all that gear you bought. It's certainly really cool here for September, especially after all the heat we had last week. Still, it should fluctuate for a while longer before it settles - except our weather guy was forecasting snow over the Sierras. I like the idea of that multi-purpose gadget. We have an emergency short-wave radio that also comes with a flashlight and crank to generate power. I should restock our earthquake supplies.....
Worked for hours in the garden today and got ruthless and pulled ot some plants that have been struggling; not sure if I'll replace them..

Annette - earthquake supplies!!! What a thing to have to do! We got a small one when we were in San Francisco on holiday way back, I was in bed and we had just arrived. I thought it was a bit of motion sickness but, it turned out the hotel was gently moving. It was obviously very minor as they go because there was no alarm. It was a bit weird though to say the least!
Well done in the garden Annette. I too had a big outside day yesterday. I cut the grass and did some tidying. I also washed the PVC surrounds of the garage as the door is getting painted on Friday if it doesn’t rain! Then I did a bit of reorganisation inside the garage. I was pleased with my efforts. Today, I have indoor jobs planned.
RUSTY Some lovely pics thank you. You obviously had a good trip even though some of it was blighted by the haar. I love the 3 bridges, all built in different centuries and for those who haven't see them The Kelpies are just magnificent when seen for real. These are the biggest equine sculptures in the world.....amazing. I have never visited them inside as I doubt my knees would cope.....shame
DIANE - thanks for starting us off again, and for all the lunar facts.
ANNETTE - I have been "forecasting" the big one for California for the past five years - so get those supplies in, it must come soon! (but I hope not!) Glad you had a useful gardening day.
RUSTY - Slight drizzle this morning but we didn't get really wet going to church, and it's been a very blue-sky afternoon. Had a quarterly meeting (quite useful) after the shortened service. People are funny at meetings - want to say their piece but refuse to actually propose a motion, so I find my role is usually to listen and then draw ideas together to come to something which can be recorded and acted upon - wears me out! Due to the meeting it was after 2pm when we had our lunch, so dinner tonight will also be late.
DIBNLIB - no way I could do it now but we did do the tour inside the Kelpies at our first visit - including lying on the floor to enjoy the wondeful engineering - and spot the mistake! I believe he is working on a bigger horse of some kind in his US studio now.

Yesterday my OH pruned more trees & took it all to the tip - then he made raspberry jam with all the stored raspberries from his hoard, from the allotment. Then he mowed the lawn. Then he took the dog for a walk - then he cooked us a roast beef dinner.... I did the veggies & gravy, and laid the table! Sigh.
Today he's made an apple & berry jam and had a rest!
Quite pleased with my apple & raspberry pie-- not made a pie for ages and the crust came out golden & yummy!!
Rusty - Enjoyed your pictures and am green with envy as the Kelpies are on my bucket list.
Dibnlib: Your friend Erica is an inspiration. I do hope that the leg is a huge success, she deserves some good news.

OG and Dibnlib - we couldn’t have a tour of the inside of the Kelpies as there were workmen in both statues. However, my friend and I came across a man from our tour who had been some kind of engineer before retirement. He was a mine of facts and information. He was very impressed with the weight balancing of the enormous heads against the necks. I just stood and admires the scale of them. I liked this photo with the reflections. Shame about the electricity pylon. I never noticed at the time!!!

I will attempt replies at some point but the boiler replacement is in progress and the boys have been asking me a few questions every now and then ( such as where is this and where is that).
