Currently hitting the headlines on most sites is the confirmation that Merin (Blue W1) from the Dyfi nest in 2015 is successfully nesting in Cumbria
Here are the photos and information released by Zeiss birding.

I thought I had added my thanks to you Richard but clearly I did not ! so I do thank you I very much appreciate this news and your photos of Merin, Sandra
It's always wonderful to get news of a new pairing on presumably a new nest, but even more exciting when it is a chick we have seen break free of its egg, to fledge and return to breed. Thank you so much, Richard and Sandra. I hope we get to hear of chicks in due course - and ring numbers!!

I was updating my Merin file recently and I had noted in 2021 he was breeding in south Lakes, and had his first chicks. No mention of the female. He had two girls: Blue 460(21)f and Blue 461(21)f.
Dyfi announced it, and said at the time that "with Aeron and Tegid breeding in north Wales, this means that Monty and Glesni have now had FOUR birds return and successfully breed in THREE different countries. Clarach bred in Aberfoyle, Scotland and may still be there."
Each successive year, Dyfi has reported Merin's return to his nest in south Lakes.
