Asha & Brodie
The partnership has matured this season, with Asha continuing her good female role (and she loves nest-building) and Brodie being more reliable, both fishing and incubating.
The pair have fought their way thru all kinds of nasty weather - snow, wind and rain - and intruders, including the dreaded KL5 Klive, have been a nuisance but not dangerous...
so far.

EDIT
********
Sadly, the month of May heralded irresistible aggression from BlueKL5 "Klive", who had ruined the end of last season for the 2 juvies.
Within the first 2 days Klive had driven Brodie from the area (tho Brodie did return a couple of times to dive-bomb Klive, to no effect) and destroyed the eggs. He commenced to woo Asha clumsily, selfishly and inappropriately, as can be seen from the following pages.

Brodie's rather inactive visits:
..
Mid-afternoon, Blue047 spent a couple of minutes on the nest:
Many humble apologies, Scylla. I hadn't refreshed, and thus missed your two lovely vids. Sorry!
With thanks to Pia on Chat!, who spotted another visitor. Pia used to be a a regular contributor on the Forum many years ago.
15.14 Blue 047(21)m from Nairn, landed on the nest again, looking alert and concerned. He looked in need of a fish! He had visited twice in April 2022, and in April three times this year.
Then on 10 July when he landed and intruder called and mantled as an unringed osprey landed on the dead tree by the PTZ
15.19 047 flew off
17.14 Klive landed with a chirrup. He checked the nest floor, sorted a feather or two while standing on one leg. A general look around
17.16 He flew off.
All quiet since

So much for the defences - our first PINE MARTEN of the season?
Klive popped in for about 4 minutes (I'm taking a break after chaotic owling):
Later he (presumably it is he on his fave fish-perch) flew up from under with a strange-looking fish! I think it was the light distorting it, as the sunrays were very strong and the rest of the picture misty, I've sharp-contrasted it up a lot.
I reposted about the pine marten on the LG chat, hope this is okay ?. I'll delete the post if it isn't
Hello, Holly. I can't speak for Scylla, but I will say Chat and the Forum are open to the public and info is freely and happily shared. I will let Scylla speak for herself as your query was pointed at her, but I think, or hope she will!
Thank you for replying, I thought that the others on the chat might like to see it, I just reposted the time stamp, not the actual video
lovely video of the pine marten Scylla, many thanks (but glad no eggs or chicks in the nest) .

I'm very happy to have been useful, Holly - and please know that I have no claims to anything I produce, the only people that do are RSPB and WildlifeWindows.
Thank you Scylla, and thank you for your videos that you post, they're brilliant to see.
