Asha & Brodie
The partnership has matured this season, with Asha continuing her good female role (and she loves nest-building) and Brodie being more reliable, both fishing and incubating.
The pair have fought their way thru all kinds of nasty weather - snow, wind and rain - and intruders, including the dreaded KL5 Klive, have been a nuisance but not dangerous...
so far.

EDIT
********
Sadly, the month of May heralded irresistible aggression from BlueKL5 "Klive", who had ruined the end of last season for the 2 juvies.
Within the first 2 days Klive had driven Brodie from the area (tho Brodie did return a couple of times to dive-bomb Klive, to no effect) and destroyed the eggs. He commenced to woo Asha clumsily, selfishly and inappropriately, as can be seen from the following pages.

scylla said:not that anyone will ever read the OP again
Well, I did and very grateful for the story so far even though not enjoying it!

I also read the OP - good job! looks like they have been struggling to pick it an osprey on cam from the centre. Sadly I think they will be searching for longer each day.
Oh, I hate the internet at times. It has been soooo slooow, that I can't go thru the vid to decide what's happening, and refreshing takes forever. Sorry for my absence.
Thank you Scylla for your super pics and vids today. I saw Asha on the totem pole eating her what must have been huge fish. Well done Asha. I have no idea how this is going to play out i the long term, but my heart goes out to Asha.
She returned to the nest at 19.01.44, in beautiful late evening sunshine. She was very alert when she landed.
19.03 she began to mantle.
and unringed male lowered to the nest rim, and briefly touched before flying off
and she is still there now
No sign of Klive.

Oh woe! 5 o'clock in the evening the Chaffinch preened and sang on the cam perch for more than 10 minutes - but no sound besides wind on the nest cam mike. I could spit !!!
Silent sample:
Oh !!! !!! !!!
Just noticed - The Chaffie was on the 24th but I was looking for the sound on the 25th
Hang on...
Instead of covering important Osprey events, the 2-day-old Chaffinch challenge must be met - but it's still a gnat's whisker out of sync, I can't do better:
25 May
Unringed male reported by SHEILA - could be the pale male we've seen before ???
End of 25 May.
26 May
You OK, EJFAN?
03:13 ~ Asha arrived:
A fox prowled but no zoom of course, so no clear sighting:
She waited will 05:55 when Brodie brought fish from Odin's perch - lots of skin thereon may be making it look more generous than it was ???
07:46 ~ Reunited for successful (eventually) mating:
Good morning! Yes I am okay, just a little trouble sleeping recently but am sure that it’s temporary. Glad to see that she was delivered another tail this morning.. hope that is not all that she gets!
Brodie? Or KL5 brought breakfish?
It was Klive that delivered the fish. There was a lot of loose skin.. I think it looked bigger than it actually was.
Just re-read Scylla’s earlier post.. didn’t see his comment about the length of fish before I wrote mine. Great minds think alike!
Oh I just loved the Chaffie. What a splendid chap. Thanks Scyllla
