Three beautiful eggs were laid from mid-April, with the final one arriving almost 10 hours later than NC0’s usual 72 hour 'cycle'.
Both Laddie and NC0 have had to defend the nest from many 'passing through' intruders. Could Laddie’s defence of the reserve be the reason why there has been no sighting of him on the webcam since early lunchtime on the 28th? There were a few occasions where there was a high likelihood that he may have been in NC0’s sight since then though, her loud fish calls alerted us to that probable fact.
With NC0’s last meal being delivered on the 27th, we can only hope that Laddie arrives home not only fit and well, but also with a well-deserved fish for such an amazing female Osprey – her endeavours to keep the eggs protected, warm and dry during his absence, have been truly remarkable!
As I write, it has been just over 60 hours without Laddie at the nest and we now wait, in anticipation, for a positive start to this new month...
*UPDATED 4.5.23: Heartbroken to report, that there was very sadly no positive news forthcoming regarding our dear Laddie...

Morning Kate and All,
Many thanks, Kate - NC0 was very vocal before she flew off, wasn't she!
It was then ENS until the Dark Male arrived at 5:20, carrying 2 clumps of grasses, one in each foot
He walked them over to the front of the nest
He picked up a stick and moved it
A wayward feather was sticking up
More nestorising
Fiddled with another stick
He glanced around
Then flew off at 5:23

He was back with a huge stick at 6:20
After some more nestorising, he left
Many thanks Sandra
How do you see the TIMINGS,?
my earlier s ones were I was actually awake at that time
Hi Kate, I take away the hours/minutes on scroll back from the present time. It can be brain taxing at times! lol
Crikey you are amazing ...Thank you. I am never sure their figures are accurate Ha!!
Aww, bless you! Gosh, you were up early! Also, estimates are better than nothing, Kate
8:04 The Dark Male was back again at 8:04 with another stick (long, thin and twiggy). I heard this one get snapped before he came into view, flying right to left behind the trees to make his approach
There is a lot of loud chipping/alarm calling at present, 8:29/8:30 - can't see anything
Morning everyone. With NC0 sleeping at the nest and the dark male preparing the nest, it's fingers crossed from me for their future together.
Morning Ash, It is looking promising
Male with another long, twiggy stick, 9:04
NC0 arrived shortly after (she was heard calling before landing)
He flew up
Here's our girl
He came back down
And attempted to mate
NC0 pecked him away
He hovered but then headed to the perch
NC0 called for fish
NC0 made her way to the front of the nest but stumbled on the new stick
This made him fly off
NC0 still on the nest at present, 9:44
I'm out again today. Let's hope for a fish exchange on the nest at some point! BFN
