It was a very welcomed surprise to see NC0 arrive back from her wintering grounds on the 8th March, her earliest return to date! NC0 kept herself occupied while alone - catching some impressive-sized fish to eat as well as preparing the nest in readiness for future eggs. To note, her severely split blue darvic ring (as seen last season) is missing and she now only wears a BTO ring on her right leg.
It was a nail-biting time for us waiting to see if dear Laddie would make an appearance too and, little did we know, that it would be a further 19 days before he made his ‘grand entrance’ on the 27th, being ‘escorted’ to the nest by a flock of very vocal gulls!
Having settled into their usual routines on the nest and around the reserve, we now look forward to watching this season’s events unfold.

Glider said, It is a bit odd just to have an individual’s name at the top of the page now
Yes, it does look a bit odd, Glider.
Laddie with a headless fish at 17:42
NC0 spread her wings when turning around after collecting her meal
Off she went
She landed in the area of the birch marked, a usual spot just recently

18:34 Laddie returned to the nest looking skyward
Chipping
He took flight
Laddie was standing on the front edge of the nest (posing!) between 19:04 until 19:32 when he flew off. What a handsome Osprey he is!
Mating, 20:06
NC0 landed
Laddie came down onto the nest from the cam post
Laddie landed on the birch
He didn't stay on the branch for long, and took a flight from left to right over the Loch
NC0 left the nest
She dipped her talons...
Then landed on the birch
I do hope the protection team are on foot patrol. At 20:20, a loud, screaming voice could be heard echoing around the reserve, and again at 20:36
Edit: I do know that the nest mic is very sensitive and picks up local, distant sounds, like cows mooing, but this seemed extraordinarily loud, IMO
NC0 returned to the perch at 20:14
At 20:20, Laddie flew over the nest and then landed when whoever was, was shouting,"Woooo.... woooo, hooooo!" a number of times at the top of their voice!
Laddie stayed on the nest, looking around, before heading off at 20:24 - it had been quiet for a few minutes
After a quick circular flight over the Loch in the birch area, he settled on this branch
Laddie and NC0 were still in the same positions pre-night cam at 20:37

I've only found the first one, I think - found by re-recording the estimated time period from rollback - the second one will be in the original 6-hour download somewhere but I can't find it.
NC0 is still on her perch.

(I'll add inr a video of the morning get-go.)
Good morning Scylla and All,
Thank you for the vids and updates.
Re the shouting last night, it was pre-night cam when I heard it at its loudest, it brought Laddie to the nest, as shown in the subsequent report after my initial mentioning of it.
Ooh, that snow ...!
