Well, it's now 2024 and hopefully another successful year for the Poole Harbour Ospreys.
The last couple of years have seen the successful establishment of a nest and raising of young.
Translocated females From the harbour have set up successful nests in Wales also raising young.
Hopefully this year may see the establishment of a second nest in the Harbour area.

Here was the family last year
I hope Alison Copland won't mind but here is a link to a video she has made of the 2023 season. It is a must watch for followers of Ospreys, especially the Poole harbour family

The 07:44 scene - cheeky little monkey sitting up in shell
The timing is coincidental, I read your post as 7 this morning leaving off the minutes but 44 minutes past the hour was my first sign of the chick.

Great news, Congratulations BOPH, CJ7 and 022. Thanks for posting Richard and Scylla. Also, Hawk Willow for your video early this morning showing the beginnings of hatching.
Sorry Scylla, my fault
I originally posted the time as 7, then when I changed it to 7.44 I noticed you had already seen and liked my post.

Oh wow! Come on little one!
Thanks for the updates on the first hatch and subsequent reports
23 May
Silly me decided a hatch and first feed vdeo should be done - it's been quite alarming seeing how unskilled CJ7 was at feeding, nearly all day! I think the osplet may have got a bite but I haven't captured an obvious one.
Pip in #2 included:

05.21 pip and eggtooth showing on nightcam:
06:11 - This morsel went down the hatch
I doubt I'll be covering #2 in a timely manner, if at all.
Bob being fed and you could clearly see No 2 chipping away at the hole, won't be too long now.
