This thread is for Osprey nests that don't warrant a thread of their own, and for other raptor nests of interest, in an effort to keep Osprey threads to a minimum for the sake of other Community members.

Hancock Forum for very close coverage of the nest.
From KORKY's introductory post for the 23-24 SWFL season:
"This is the first season with M15 & new mate F23. F23 was first documented in the area Summer 2023 before officially bonding with M in October 2023. The original adult bald eagle pair, known as Ozzie and Harriet, had been coming to this nest since 2006. After Ozzie’s passing in the early fall of 2015, Harriet & M15 bonded in late fall of 2015. After eighth seasons as a mated pair, Harriet never returned to the nest in Feb. 2023 and M successfully raised their young E21 & E22 to fledge.' F23 has just laid her first egg dickpritchettrealestate.com/.../

F23 has 2 eggs and one appears to be about to hatch!... So I'm starting the new thread a couple of days early. I don't know who is currently incubating.

Hope Peregrines don't adopt it as a scrape!

Me too, WendyBartter The perry was back in the afternoon for over 2 hours - I'm not sure whether it left to chase prey or because it saw the Osprey approaching.
The Osprey didn't spend the night on the nest, he was back @ 06:48 and has been on the nest continuously apart from one break - no fish or sticks yet.
Oh dear! Thanks Scylla, just hope the Osprey spends a lot of time on the nest, that will deter the Peregrine!
The Spanish male got buzzed but unfortunately the cam was zoomed in at the time so this was the best shot to be got - he chased the intruder and came back 40 minutes later:
Spanish cliff Ospreys
Yes, Ospreys plural! While I wasn't recording (having forgotten to check the stream after it went down the other day) the female arrived
Someone on Glaslyn Chat said something about the Peregrine Falcon still causing trouble, so I ventured thru rollback and managed to find a few samples which will give you an idea of the kind of day they had - it wasn't easy! There are intrusions from both Perry and Osprey!
I have flagged Tylor's post immediately before this one.
I have too, Scylla, as well as the one on the Lowes thread.
Spanish cliff Osprey (Mallorca?)
The female spent the night on the nest; male flew in 06:33 for failed mating; another failed mating; then this male brought a spindly and was summarily driven off, so was he an intruder?
He flew around and back, still with stick, she fled:
Lots of ins 'n outs, can't tell who's who - more than once she responded as if the approaching male was not her accepted partner:
I haven't yet seen the Peregrine.
I've been trying to organise/tidy up my bookmarks. I'm good at making them, but then can't find the original bookmark file!! I found them again today, and came across FLANDERS MOSS NNR, which is not far from the Lake of Menteith. Does anyone know anymore about it? Did they rebuild the nest after it collapsed. Are any rings details known? It had clearly been a viable nest for a while.

Great footage Scylla, at this rate they'll be too exhausted to raise chicks, hope it settles down soon!
