OFF-SEASON 2023-24 - FEEDERS & OTHER CRITTER CAMS

Continuing THOMO's LG feeder, and including other cams as per title.

First, some LG feeder snaps & vids from the past couple of days.

Female & male GSWs, joined up by trickery - you may notice that the peanut tube is misshapen Stuck out tongue winking eye

Nasty Great Coal Tit:

No trickery for the 2 Blue Tits:

Now for the torture - I just cannot figure out Greenfinch or female Chaffinch:

This was in flight so has had to be sharpened a lot:

Little vid:

No mistaking the evening Crestie!

  • It's a good page for searching for stuff though Scylla!

  • Mojave

Lots of salads were set out for the Ground Squirrels (plus more peanuts for the Scrub Jays and seeds for the other birdies):

That night, a coyote sniffed at and scent marked the salad.  I know it's not a perfect view but it's the best there was, the coyote turned it's body/head while cocking its leg, so it looks very awkward.

These birdies are the first to arrive every morning, lately.  I've not got around to asking what they are.

After a big clean-up by our hosts, the doves, mainly, take over (they returned after the panicked dispersal):

    .

    Boreal Ontario

I was surprised to find this cam back online, no idea how long it's been going.  My brief look has found most of the usual suspects there, here's a little look at the Evening Grosbeaks:

  • A very interesting assortment           Smiley     Thanks Scylla. You've been working hard here.

  • Boreal Ontario

Not nearly as many Pine as Evening Grosbeaks:

The North American Great or Coal Tit - Chickadee - often first in and last out Blush

Yay, my fave - Canada or Gray Jay - I'm wondering if this was a youngster, it's not quite marked as I remember, shade-wise:

Next morning I despaired of getting clear views of the little flocks of Common Redpoll, you know how camouflaged they are on the seed tray - so here's a grainy corner close-up:

Have run out of steam so am saving a surprise (to me, anyway) video for next acrive session Stuck out tongue winking eye

Surprise, because I thought the Flying Squirrels were hibernating!  This one had a false start Hugging

There was a second, shorter session, eating further back on the tray - before the snow.

  • Testing the first of the month status, it usually starts around 03:00 - it's pretty seized up now but not nearly as bad as sometimes... yet!

    Glaslyn:

  • Just loved the flying squirrel Scylla!

  • Was very, very slow when I tried about half eleven but cleared back to normal after lunch! We haven't had it so bad for the last couple of months so thought it was resolved, bit of a shock this morning!

That's even more appreciated than usual Blue heart it took me blooming ages and ages to do, I'm getting too old for this.

EDIT - the frustration of trying to add the weedy arrows, especially in the right direction, in WindowsMovieMaker led me to installing Openshot video editor - but that has its own failings so it's had to be uninstalled, entailing even more agony and angst Confounded

  • At least you try all these different editors Scylla, don't know how I'd cope without AZ, debut & Win MM!

    I admire your tenacity!
