HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Have a good week, all!

  • ANNETTE - so glad that the family arrived safely in Arizona ! I was looking at the projected path of the storm, and could see that it wasn't going to hit you hard. I thought about Rancho Mirage, where our late friends had a property, Also, good that your OH is getting help..
DIANE - I'm sending best thoughts to you in your current struggles - hoping that things can be settled soon x
RUSTY - no, it isn't like you to feel tired, I always admire your seemingly boundless energy. However, Covid has a nasty habit of leaving us a bit wiped out :-(
LINDY - You mentioned cannabis oil - the NHS doesn't recommend it so I hope you are feeling any benefits !
Two dogs must make a lot of work, maybe just as well that you only have Bonnie to cope with now...
DIBNLIB - enjoy your new car !
HARELADY - have you survived your Nanny tiime?
OG - I hope that J is continuing to make progress and that you are getting on OK with the physiotherapist and walking,
PAT - I admire anyone who can put a magazine of any kind together. I'm an absolute dunce when it comes to things like that !

    Regards to ALL

A lot of people are using it medically and feeling the benefits.  People keep telling us that Limpy should try it but his pain levels are screaming and and we're not sure what to get.  Plus, the NHS has got him addicted to morphine - I feel he is their problem to sort out and it's high time they trialled cannabis on him and people like him.  I dread him living the rest of his life in unrelenting pain if there's a legal medicine they haven't tried yet.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • CLARE

So sorry that Limpy is in so much pain.
  • CLARE - I spent a long time working in the NHS but I am a bit of a cynic....

  • I'll confess that when Helen was very young I briefly temped in the NHS, at Colchester General Hospital. I've never seen anything like it and I ended up telling the agency I was leaving whether they found me another placement or not. So much mismanagement and waste. It was so bad I'd have just sacked all the admin there and started over, as it couldn't have got any worse.

  • Rusty: Fatigue was the major symptom when I had Covid. Very frustrating when you're used to bustling about.

Diane: Truly sorry to read things are difficult - I'm very familiar with 'overwhelming.' Wish I could be there to help sort things out....
  • Thank you all for your good wishes. I will just have to try not to be impatient and to take it easy for this week at least!!

Clare - I am so sorry that Limpy is in such pain. It must be so hard for both of you.

    Hebrides Day 3.

We visited Portree - the Isle of Skye capital. What a charming little place it is.

Mind you, we turned up on the day of their Highland Gathering so it was seething!!! We walked past the famous coloured houses and watched the pipe band march off to the gathering. They were very good. Photos taken when they were tuning up.

After that we visited the famous kilt rock. A coastal formation which some say looks like a kilt.

Then we went to Flora Macdonald’s memorial.

I loved the moss and lichen on the old tombstones.

We caught a late ferry over to North Uist and ate in their restaurant. Naturally I chose the fish and chips and very good it was too.

It was dark when we finally arrived at our hotel in Benbecula.

All of you Scots will gasp in horror that I've just had to Google her!  Sorry, but Bonnie Prince Charlie didn't come up in our history lessons.

  • I see that Rusty has posted some lovely pics -- I'll go back in a minute to enjoy them.

Diane - I'm so sorry to read that you've got lots of issues -- you know that we on here are all rooting for you of course. I'm sure if you just tackle it one at a time you can 'come out the other side' in the end. Lots of {{HUGS}} to you. (Glad you liked the card - it was a woodland scene with a musical fox, folks. Which sounds weird, now, come to think of it!)

Annette - So good that your OH is beginning to be up and about again already, although I know he'll have to take it easy for a while.

I've been busy, sorting out lots of things and doing H Work too. We're readying for going back to Wales on Thursday, again.

I take Cannabis capsules which I get by post from a reputable supplier, Healthspan. It can also be taken as drops on the tongue. I seem to be improving but of course its impossible to say if its helping me or if I would have felt better anyway simply because its summer. I ache in very wet or cold weather, usually.

Either way, Lindy, I'm glad you've improved.  If it does turn out that it's the capsules behind your improvement then I can only say how sad it is that you're having to pay for them instead of getting them on an NHS prescription.
