Link to July 2023 thread
July proved to be a less nail-biting month than June. Brodie re-appeared early on the 1st and delivered fish (including flounder) to the nest every day bar 1 thereafter, with a record count of 7 on the 21st. Asha also fished and delivered a salmon on the 3rd, as well as quite a few sticks, not least one to replace the sticky-up stick on the nest that got removed on ringing day - 12th July. We have 2 boys, as only 7% of those surveyed had predicted. 2C5 (oldest) became Sid (Vicious) and 2C4 (youngest) is Harry (Nilsson). We had some cracking snaps particularly from the PTZ camera, a 2am fish, self-feeding started, and wing-flapping and helicoptering. Bets are on for a fledge or two very early in August. Sid is 58 days and Harry 56 days on the 1st of August
Owl is dancing on the nest
IMAGICAT
Oh what a torrid time I've had - so this omits some detail provided by CANUCK (for which, thanks so much!) and I'm too exhausted even to read SHEILA's most recent report properly but I certainly get and agree with the sentiments!
I can't change the thumbnail because every time I upload a better one it fotally freezes Firefox - that's just the latest glitch of the one hundred that have afflicted me today.
BUT !!! You'll never believe it - I may have found the solution to my network problem, but we'll see how long it lasts.
I'll do the owl vid tomorrow. I first took it for granted it was the Tawny but now think it may have been a Barnie, but I have to get a closer look.
G'night !!! !!! !!!

2C5 was on the nest for a while from 08:25, now he's here again but having to defend vs a vicious attacker, who's just pulled him off the right side of the nest with passing talons.
I've done some screen recording and see that the sound is way out of sync - never happens on the nest cam, what the heck now?!
Oh no! Both the cams are down
Someone on Chat asked what little bird was on the nest 07:51 - by the time I found it and did snaps (while other footage was processing but more work to do on that yet)... someone had answered REDSTART, which was going to be my triumphant answer, bah!
I was going to say that when i saw it But don't like using chat
There are too many conflicting reports to get involved with
