Well, color me clueless! Here I am, thinking Mystery Plays are a sort of participatory live performance a la Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express. Wrong again.

Meanwhile, granddaughter and Ms. D are now safely back home. Took Pearl back to daughter's this afternoon. Daughter and I spent the time yawning at each other. :-)

Ha ha Annette! Yes, the Mystery Plays are very ancient. They date back to the 1400s. They have them in York too and a couple of other cites I believe.
I am off to see the ospreys at Llyn Brenig today. Hooray!!

Morning all, Im posting now as may not be around much until next week as I will be in Yorkshire. My brother is in Harrogate hospital with a very bad blood infection.

He is 82 and very weak. He is on intravenous antibiotics - 5 times a day, but its taken 4 weeks to get the infection down slightly so he will be in for a few more weeks the doctors say.

His wife doesn't drive and they live in Pateley Bridge a 45 mins drive, so all the family have been taking it in turn to go up and help.

OG - where were you at Uni? Hope the work on the windows is getting done.

Clare - loving all the photos and so glad you to Iona.

Rusty - the mystery plays sounds great. I belong to The Dorothy L Sayers society and attended a week long performance of The Man Born to be King at a church in Cambridge which was very good.

Lindy - I hope you knee is improving and the you recover from the cold.

Diane - I hope you are ok and the weather and air quality is improving.

Heather - lurking is fine - I did it for years!

Dibnlib - I have friends and family that no longer send cards, even at Christmas but I like send and getting them.

Annette: Sounds as if you enjoyed your family visit.

OG - A relative put our photo on FB after the family gathering: It has most of us on it but one or two are missing as some had to leave early as they had a very long journey home again. My Youngest can be seen on the left hand side with his wife and little Matthew in front of him. My sis in law "Sue" is on the extreme right hand side of the group dressed entirely in blue. I'm the floaty blue blouse somewhere in the middle!

I've been coughing for England - this is a stinker of a cold. Had a patchy night's sleep so am now dropping off to sleep whenever I sit down. Have got nothing at all done which is very frustrating as last week was the same. Boo.

Don't hesitate to go to the doctor if it doesn't go quickly, Lindy.  You don't want what Limpy ended up with earlier this year.

Annette - I hope you managed to get through some or all of the laundry pile.
Sunny Kate - I do hope your bother continues to improve. It sounds as if it will be a long a slow process. That is a long drive to and from the hospital every day. I imagine that round their public transport is virtually non existent.
Those links are brilliant . I watched them both. I, of course, recognised all the cast even though they weren’t in costume.
Lindy - I hope your cold soon gets better. That cough sounds horrid.
I have had a brillant day at Llyn Brenig. We saw the male and female ospreys on a perch nearby the nest and then the female flew to the nest. From the viewpoint there are scopes set up so that you get excellent views. Then volunteers there are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and are keen to impart information. In a hut there they have the live feed to the nest so that you can see the chicks too on a huge screen. They will be ringed tomorrow. On the feeders nearby we saw a beautiful male lesser redpoll. Then, when we were walking beside the lake a spoonbill flew over!!!!!!! Yes, a spoonbill. Really unexpected and not in the sort of territory we would expect. They are seen regularly on the Dee estuary but for us it would be over an hour to drive there. Maybe as the spoonbill flies. It’s not that far!!! The other theory that it was on migration. Whatever, it was most unexpected. We then went back the the Llyn Brenig Visitor Centre where we had a very nice light lunch.
