13.57 2 chicks on the nest, they notice an intrude4 and start shouting and mantling.

An Osprey flies past (magnified)

Harry arrives with a small fish and the chicks forget the intruder to go straight for the fish.

As they pull the fish from Harry, he is chipping and another juvie arrives at the nest.

The chicks have an end each of the fish and both fighting hard to get it.

The other chick who just landed is defending the nest with Harry.

The chick to the right has won the fish.

They all end up defending again.

The intruding Osprey flies past again

and again.

Harry chips some more then leaves.

15.06 Two chicks are resting on the nest. Flora arrives with a fish.

I think the chick who got the previous fish got this one too. I can’t be 100% with its ID.

Harry with another fish, all three youngsters are on the nest.

And the news of the day is that #3 has fledged! 57 days old

He did some wingercising and had a couple of practice lift offs

Then went to the back edge of the nest and stood, looking around whilst the sibling to his right was constantly calling. 05.26

05.27 After waiting for around a minute, he took off

However, he went straight into the perch

and crashed down below

Thank goodness I wasn’t watching this live!

He managed to gain control and was then seen flying low below the nest

and followed the track lines out of sight of the camera.

05.28 He could be heard calling excitedly in the background and returned around half a minute later at speed.

Here he comes, watched by his welcoming party!

He kind of landed with a thump and got his talons caught in the black plastic.

which he shook off

he then composed himself and sorted his feathers out.

Well done #3 

With his new found flying skills, #3 then flew up to the perch!

A bit tricky balancing there as the middle post is higher than the bar, but he managed.

08.32 Fish delivery from Harry. A flatfish.

The 2 chicks on the nest go for it, #2 and #3.

#2 gets it

Harry leaves, chick #2 mantles

#1 comes flying in but too late for the fish.

Flora arrives on the nest, ready for Harry delivering another fish. 10.42

There’s a scramble between Flora, #1 and #3

I don’t know how, but it seems #3 got it. ( He must be starving though. I don’t think he fed yesterday)

Flora flies off. #3 is mantling and screaming that he’s got a fish

#2 arrives

#1 and #2 miss out this time

#3 is having his best day.(centre) Taken just after finishing off his fish. 11.43

#3 is all alone on the nest when another fish is delivered from Harry. 13.06

He mantles and squeals for five minutes before starting to eat his prize.

13.40 He shoo’s off #1 when they arrive but #1 doesn’t react

Back to the fish


#2 arrives 6 minutes later at 13.46. #3 protects his fish

Later at 14.06, #3 walks off his fish and allows #1 to take it.

Next fish came at18.25 delivered by Harry again.

#2 managed to get it

18.27. #3 made an attempt to steal it.

He pulled hard 

But #2 managed to hold on and keep the fish.
