19.52 Harry arrives with another fish.
Looks like #2 gets it again. (Centre left)
Flora then flies on and goes straight for the fish. It’s a bit of a scrap between the two birds.
After Flora left, #1 then challenged #2 for the fish
#2 was determined to keep her fish and successfully fought off this challenge too.19.54 Finally #2 got to start eating her fish.
After #2 had had enough of the fish. She let go of it. #3 had been watching closely for quite some time and saw his chance to get a wee feed. He cagily approached #2 (right side)
Then quickly grabbed the fish, stumbling in the process, probably wary of an attack.
#2 claimed the fish (just skin left I think)
He managed to eat it all. So that’s a tiny fish and two straggly end pieces that I’ve seen #3 eat today. He did well to get those with two strong older siblings who will always get the bulk of the fish but #3 is managing to eat just enough to get by.
Goodnight #3
Wednesday 19 July
In the morning, #1 came back to the nest. However, #3 had decided overnight that with being the sole one sleeping there, it was now his nest and he treated #1 like an intruder!
Every time #1 approached the nest, #3 flapped her off.#1 went to the perch for a short while then came onto the nest. #3 was still very vocal#3 to the lefteventually things settled down. #1 didn’t retaliate and just quietly stood on the nest#3 lay downIt might have been a different story if it was #2.
#1 stayed on the nest with #3 then #2 arrived. (Right)
#3 (centre back) went to “greet” her but not much more than that. #1 was calling at the same time as #3 and soon all three birds were fish calling.
From left - #3 #1 #2
#3 all alone again at 07.18
07.26 He got up for a stretch
He then did some wingercising. He managed a little jump.

ailie said:Just been to visit Alyth nest .. we could see a couple on the nest and another.. presuming it was mum sitting .. on a perch behind the view of camera, she flew back up to nest as another Osprey flew over, probably intruder, as didn’t land and circled a few times before going away .. so lovely to actually see these beautiful birds for real
Sounds great Ailie. I thought there was an unseen perch behind the camera as when a fish comes in, Flora is at the nest in lightning speed!
I don’t know if I missed any but the first fish delivery I found was at 11.19 from Harry.
#1 and #3 were on the nest.
Of course, #1 got it and mantled.
