Our 3 thriving chicks almost adult sized with Harry and Flora. 
As of 01/07/23 the chicks are 42, 40 and 38 days old.

    I feel the two older aggressive chicks are female with the youngest #3, being male.

    Flora decides to go fishing and brings in a small fish at 19.10.


    The chicks were taken by surprise and there was no fish calling when she landed.


    They soon lined up though


    The chick in the middle got the tail


    Feed finished.

    That was the last feed of the day. Flora flew off at 21.04 and didn’t return until 22.22. Harry hasn’t seen since he delivered the large headless fish at 13.14.

    Hope he’s back in the morning.

    Tuesday 4 July

    Still no sign of Harry. Flora is off nest. 05.47 Intruder chipping can be heard in the background. An unringed intruder landed on a chick then moved to the edge.



    The chicks are cheeping.




    05.48 The intruder left as it saw Flora approaching. She landed with a fish and went straight into mantling/chipping mode.



    The chicks were more interested in being fed.


    Flora fed them all, some getting more than others.

    06.07 Flora finishes with the tail then gives a few scraps to the chicks.

    The chicks are still calling for fish. Flora is calling loudly too. Is Harry around or is she just joining in with the chicks?

    Flora must’ve seen Harry earlier as he arrived at 10.36 with a very small fish

    All 4 birds calling for Harry Hear no evil

    Doesn’t last long, Flora eats the tail.


    Calling again for more.

    11.46 Flora was off nest and Harry delivered a fish.


    He let one of the chicks claim it. #2 I think.


    The chick was managing to tear pieces off the fish


    #1 watched as #2 ate

    Flora arrived and spotted the fish 


    Her instinct was to go and take it but she then held back.

    Flora then started chipping and flapping/mantling


    an intruder appeared

    It was gone after a few minutes.

    14.25 Harry brings in a similar fish the the last one that #2 got earlier


    Flora claims it.


    Thankfully #2 isn’t joining the feed and #1 and #3 eat together 

    #1 gets the tail


    #3 is asking for more

    Don’t know where Harry is again. Flora brought a fish in at 20.55.

    My screen captures aren’t always working but managed to get one of Flora arriving with the fish.


    It’s a better size than a lot of the tiddlers that have been brought in. I just wish some more big fish could be caught.

    Wednesday 5 July

    Flora does a lot of shouting before settling down to start the feed.

    08.27 Another small fish delivery from Harry


    Flora had Harry’s foot before the fish stopped and she got it



    #1 in prime position for the feed. Still has the black plastic band.


    08.23  #1 gets the tail. Feed finished. All shout for more.
