I think we've all had bad hair days like that! lol. Many thanks for your wonderful updates on both here and at Alyth, Glider, you're doing a fabulous job!
LM6 (left) only stayed on the nest until after 01.30 again. The chicks, like all youngsters are restless sleepers!
01.35 She decides to go now.You can just make out LM6 on the perch at the PTZ cam
LJ2 stays for another couple of hours then leaves at 03.33. He joins LM6
04.47 LM6 visits the chicks. They’re having a lie in!
Back to the preening perch
05.38 Another nest visit, you can see her shadow on the trees as LM6 flies in. LJ2 is sitting on the tree to the right.
LM6 has nesting material with her.
She sets about sorting the nest.
I like the bright lighting at this time of the morning bringing the colours to life.
And a leg pops out! Both chicks get up as mum potters about. (When a teenager, I remember my mum coming into my room to hoover to get me out of bed! )
05.54 LM6 found the straggly skin left over from the last fish.
It was very tricky to pull apart so she left. LJ2 came arrived later to try and eat it
07.11
Still no success, LJ2 dropped it again and flew to the tree beyond the nest.
11.19 LM6 arrived on the nest followed by LJ2 with a small perch
LM6 took it
She dropped the fish and 7B6 took it.
11.20 LM6 found some dried up skin to eat
11.20 7B5 (right) took the fish off 7B6
7B6 wanted it back
LM6 goes over to see if she can get the fish
11.25 Then LM6 spotted another old dried up piece of skin.
11.46 Well, I’m not sure who got what but everyone seems to have finished eating now!
13.14 LM6 quietly flies in with a headless fish.
13.18 The chicks aren’t interested
13.24 the chicks finally come over for a feed.
13.36 The chicks are again trying to self feed.
7B6 withdraws first
7B5 eats some more
Finally withdrawing at 13.57
13.59 Then 7B6 started eating again.
14.12. 7B5 managed another little jump during her flying practice
14.12. 7B6 walked away from the fish.
14.14 LM6 retrieves the fish and starts eating again.
14.16 She brings it to the other side of the nest
14.17 The chicks are busy wingercising
14.19 The chicks come for a feed
15.12 LM6 is still feeding one chick
She then spots something above and starts chipping and mantling
15.12 LJ2 comes to the nest
15.13 He starts mantling, looking upwards
15.15 He then looks across the nest and spots the fine fish LM6 is holding
LJ2 pulls it from LM6’s talons
He grasps it then flies off. Intruder, what intruder!!
