Egg No. 2 laid 23 April - Hatched 29 May (36 days)
Egg No. 3 laid 26 April - Hatched 1 June (37 days) Sadly, this little chick died on 3rd June. It coincided with LJ2 having a leg injury and unable to fish at the time. I don’t know if this was the sole reason, part of the reason or something else. RIP little one

Both chicks showing off their new leg rings.
10.55 LM6 picks up the half fish on the nest, eats some herself and feeds the chicks too.
11.51 LM6 swallows the tail.
Some preening sessions on the nest
17.40 fish delivery from LJ2LM6 collects the fish, the chicks are asking to be fed.
18.17 feed finished, LM6 lets go of the fish.She joins LJ2 (rear) on the preening perch
19.39 LJ2 flies from the treetop to the nest with a partially eaten fish.
LM6 eats a lot of the fish herself before the chicks show interest.
20.03 One of the chicks sneaks it’s head below LM6 to grab the fish tail.
LM6 lets go
20.23 A family of contented ospreys. LM6 dozing on the nest with the chicks, LJ2 on the treetop beyond.

Saturday 8 July
Good morning it’s another windy day but at least it’s dry.
04.40 LM6 still trying to snuggle the chicks in.
There has been a lot of wing stretching by the chicks
05.16 LJ2 arrives with some soft bedding
The 4 birds all standing into the wind. Mum and dad flanking the chicks.
LM6 has enjoyed long periods on the preening perch this morning, alone and with LJ2 (behind her)
7B5 nearest the camera
07.43 LM6 finds a piece of fish on the nest and starts to eat it.More wing stretching, flapping from the chicks.7B6 went over for some fish from mum.
08.22 The chicks watch LM6 bring in a stick.
09.00 LJ2 joins LM6 on the nest. LM6 soon starts chipping
LJ2 responds mantling and chipping
They are tracking above
LJ2 flies off whilst LM6 stays on the nest.
A few minutes later LM6 starts chipping again and LJ2 returns.
After more chipping and mantling, LJ2 takes to the skies again.
09.31 More chipping and mantling
10.03 A short while later, it’s quiet again. The rain is on. The chicks seek shelter with LM6.
