Two healthy chicks hatched successfully from eggs two and three. The first egg laid was non-viable and, hopefully, it will be able to be retrieved from the nest, at the time of ringing, as to ascertain the reason why.
During the middle of May, Laddie sustained an injury to his flank and NC0 was without a meal for 87 hours due to him not being able to hunt. It was pure relief when he finally arrived with a fish, at a critical time too as the first chick had just hatched. Laddie excelled himself on the evening of the 25th, bringing in an absolute whopper of a fish which fed both chicks and adults multiple times throughout the evening, during the night and well into the next morning.
The end of the month saw some 'difficult' behaviour from #1 on its younger sibling, not only restricted to mealtimes either. With longer gaps, on occasion, between fish being brought to the nest by Laddie (probably due to his defence of the nest and area from intruders, of which there had been many last month), #2 has been the subject of dominance and aggression. We can only hope this begins to lessen in the coming days and weeks.
NC0 has been doing a sterling job with feeding both chicks ensuring, as much as possible, that the youngest receives its fair share as well. She has also shown great maturity when defending the chicks and nest from intruders too - she is definitely a force to be reckoned with!

Have you seen #2's crop, Richard, it's huge!! (Edit: Lol, just seen your previous post - yes, of course you had!)
NC0 gave it the fish tail at the end of the feed too! (21:44)
Laddie to the nest at 22:00 - no fish...was he expecting some leftovers? NC0 was fish calling while brooding the chicks
It was only a very short visit. He headed towards the birch area then veered off to the right, over the Loch and out of cam view

22:08 NC0 vocalised as Laddie flew from the right side of the Loch
And into the greenery, left of the birch

22:18 NC0 began calling again, Laddie came into view...
...and flew past, down the inlet
Laddie didn't come back to the nest.
I captured this at 23:41, pic cropped and sharpened. NC0 tucked in sleeping, #1 lying down on the nest on her left and #2 peeking out between them both
Morning All,
No fish has been delivered yet.
NC0 flew off from the nest at 6:19 after sounding off human intruder alarm calls (I couldn't see anything untoward). After a fly around, she did land on the birch for a short while
Chicks had been alone on the nest since then, she was keeping an eye on them from above the cam (both looking up to her here)
NC0 back down to the nest at 7:39
7:50
Let's hope Laddie brings his family a decent-sized breakfish soon.
Off to work shortly, BFN
From scroll back, I can't find any fish deliveries apart from this one - a tiddler delivered by Laddie at 11:49
#2 had moved itself away. NC0 rushed to contain the live fish
Laddie veered off to the right, out of cam view
Close to the end of the feed. Not liking #2's position here!
NC0 shouted for more. TIme from delivery to end of the meal for #1, was under 4 minutes
#2 joined in with NC0, asking for fish
12:42 NC0 came back from a comfort break, chipping. There were loud chipping/alarm calls too but not from her
Laddie to the nest
NC0 rushed over, expecting a fish. Laddie chipped
NC0 fish called
More chipping from Laddie
And off he went
