Asha is the proud parent of 3 eggs, the father of which being dubious but probably URM - now called Brodie - as we hardly saw NN2 (for whom we wish all the best elsewhere) be accepted by Asha. Brodie had a lot of trouble fending off intruders which has made him a bit flaky in the fish catching and delivery department. Poor old Asha didn't eat for over 2 days last week. The main intruder was KL5, who seems to have stopped hanging around so much now, which is good as we approach hatch date and the need for fish will ramp up.
A scylla-super-snap of the happy parents-to-be
Also, courtesy of scylla, here are the laying dates;
25 April - egg 1
28 April - egg 2
01 May - egg 3

Morning all
Hooray for Trevor's 05.33 fish. Whole. Bit of a tiddler though.

Well done for catching #1 fish Trevor, and Korky for your capture. Better than nothing!! 'cos that's all they've had since.
07.21.53 Asha has a comfort break, returns and had a major move of sticks pics
07.28 Another comfort break returns with a clump of something
09.51.29 Asha flew off, intruder calling. Off to the left.
09.52.2 She returned, landing on the nest perch.
11.35 She is still on the perch.
11.47.53 Asha stretched, and then flew for a comfort/stretch
11.51 She returned with a clump of something. Chicks became interested, expecting some food. #2 has a poop and lay down again.
11.57 Asha spots a stick sticking up, just balance on the edge. She tries to pull it, then bite the end, and again. Pic The chicks could be heard chuntering.
12.05 The PTZ moved in on Asha pic
12.35 Asha took off. Cam moved out
12.53 Rain on the way. Asha steps into the cup, and moves some small sticks.
12.55 She saunters around the cup, moving a stick here, a piece of bark there.
12.57 #1 Chick snuggles closer, as rain presumably gets heavier
13.01 #2 thinks if it gets its head under Asha it won't get wet.
13.12 Rain is heavier, Asha spreads out over them.
14.04 It has probably stopped raining now, but Asha remains covering the chicks
No sign of #2 fish

Thank you, TREVOR & KORKY
Since some time overnight my downloader has started crashing repeatedly again, after a long stable period. (I therefore have only the grainy screen capture of the PTZ, it doesn't give an interesting view of the fish.) I'm going to shut down and install some unknown, untried alternative software, am not at all hopeful it will do the same job.
The downloader company seems to have been taken over and asset-stripped... sounds familiar?
Asha has been on several flyabouts, often returning from this direction so we can't see what she's carrying very well:
Going out with a flourish
A little spell this morning with Asha, chicks, brief indistinct Cuckoo, helicopter:
I'm just going to have a mosey around to pluck up courage to do the necessary...
When will I see you again?
IMAGICAT
Hello all and thanks for the reports, pics and videos! No fish since last reported. ️ My first chance to check in, and one of the chicks, assume #1, has already manifested a more adult like fish call. They grow fast! Not long before flapping…

They do grow so fast CC! The rain clouds have lifted and Asha is standing apart from the chicks, and we can have a chance to see how well they can stand up, even if it is briefly.
I wonder where the heck Brodie has been all day. We know that Asha chased an unseen intruder away and none has been seen over the nest. Is he keeping one away. Oh, how I wish we had someone on the ground who could tell us!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Good fish at 19.28 thank goodness

Hope you make it out the other side scylla
