Asha is the proud parent of 3 eggs, the father of which being dubious but probably URM - now called Brodie - as we hardly saw NN2 (for whom we wish all the best elsewhere) be accepted by Asha. Brodie had a lot of trouble fending off intruders which has made him a bit flaky in the fish catching and delivery department. Poor old Asha didn't eat for over 2 days last week. The main intruder was KL5, who seems to have stopped hanging around so much now, which is good as we approach hatch date and the need for fish will ramp up.
A scylla-super-snap of the happy parents-to-be
Also, courtesy of scylla, here are the laying dates;
25 April - egg 1
28 April - egg 2
01 May - egg 3

Our erstwhile companion CRINGER asked me that last season and I told him that I use a lot of freebie softwares, often 2-3 on the same snap - but I think I forgot to mention that I'm working on a laptop with an "ultra HD" screen... which I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy unless they were very young and sharp-eyed, because most software isn't designed to display on UHD and it's nearly sent me blind, the menus etc have such tiny text.
"Patience" is a huge factor, but it's really time-wasting when one could be getting on with other nests etc. I love pictures!
The particular snaps you refer to were thanks to camperson, who'd zoomed in on the PTZ.
Last evening's headless fish reported by SHEILA didn't show up well, but a gif shows it off reasonably:
Asha couldn't keep her eyes open

Great shot of Brodie and fish delivery. I'm heaving a sigh of relief now for this nest. And Brodie is a first time dad I have kept reminiscing myself Thank you Scylla
Hello! Asha was eating the tail end of a fish, or so I thought, when I arrived a short while ago, but further rewinding shows that Brodie brought in a whole #2 FISH 14.29.27.
#1 chick was sparko at the back of the nest, Asha, her talon on the fish, the egg and #2 chick were all in very close proximity!
Brodie didn't hang around. He called briefly and headed out beyond the old nest.
#1 realised food was available and lined up near #2, but his interest soon waned and he lay back down.
14.45 Asha was suddenly aware of an intruder i the vicinity, and paused to look. Possibly Brodie was still out dealing with the matter
14.55 Asha continued with with her fish, with pauses to look around. Neither chick appeared interested as she tucked in.
Earlier she was continually tucking into a fish. 05.26 she found an old one which she tucked into. 06.15 she either rediscovered it, or found it again. It was quite a reasonable size. 06.32 the osplets joined in. 07.03 a horrible looking piece disappeared down her throat before she fed them again. 07.35 Another few bites for Asha. 07.40 she fed the now waiting osplets. When they were done, she stayed standing with the fish in her talon, leaning forward to pick up fallen bits.
08.15 she had a stretch and stood off the fish. 08.36 the still unbroken egg has been showing well.
08.54 holding the fish again she tries to offer some morsels to the young. #2 is up and keen. 08.56 now two up. 09.30 they both turn away. and Asha continues for a few more minutes.
09.01 while Asha was feeding from last night's good-sized fish, Brodie landed with FISH #1 of the day. She was torn whether to continue with the old one, or grab the new one. She decided on the fresh fish!
09.57 Asha stretches and takes a comfort break 09.58.40 she returns with nothing more than a chirrup.
10.05 picking delicately between them, she picks up left overs which of course disturbs the sleeping cherubs. It's warming up now, and she opens her wings a bit to cool down. Osplets become more active, standing up, shaking wings. Asha finds the remains and provides another meal.
11.00 lots of intermittent preening and shut eye
11.21 Edited in as I missed it completely An intruder was bothering Asha again
11.59 another meal
12.32 the kids are sparko again, so Asha takes another short comfort break. She brings in another awkward stick, this time short, stocky and pointy. She leaves it where she landed, spent time looking around, and looked somewhat fluffed up. 13.03 another feed. 13.59 another feed
14.19 a comfort break. #1 wiggles close to the far rim and watched as she went. #2 remained near the egg. 14.20 she back, checking around her, quietly.
14.28 Something is happening out there! She is still very quiet.
14.29 Brodie landed, passed on the brown trout and intruder chipped before flying away!! And this is where we started this post
15.33 Asha keeps looking around 15.35 another look around before she takes a comfort break.
15.48 Asha returned, watching around her. I think she brought in a small stick ..... Brodie lands beside her, intruder calling and mantling, but it didn't last long. They both keep an eye around them, the winds gets up, and Brodie calls again, repeats it, but no mantling and at the moment not going in chase. Ha ha he spots a left over tail end, tries to pick it up and finds he is standing on #1 so backed off, looked out across the bog, chipped and took flight, in earnest, to escort whoever away 15.57.59. Asha watches. Osplets ignore
15.56 Brodie has returned and he is intruder chipping again. Asha is feeding the osplets.
15.58 Another brief feed and Asha goes in search of dropped pieces of fish, and keeps an eye on the terrain around.

09:01 - I called this a small fish on the PTZ video but it's not too bad at all, I had to change it to "medium".
11:20 - an impressive poop by #1, I think - at least, it travelled a good distance out to our left:
scylla said:INTRUDER !!! Asha is mantling (viewed on the PTZ zoomed in).
From the nestcam - must this be the Brodie lookalike mentioned the other day?
This just crept in before the 6-hour cut-off - I won't have a better view when Asha collects it because that will be lost while the video processes before the nest 6-hour session starts:
PTZ view is even worse!
Brodie was back to defend:
He was back again @ 15:49, it went on until 15:57 - I'm not doing any more snaps because intruder not seen (by me, anyway) and my system is staggering.
Please let me know if there's something I should be covering but I'm taking a break now

And I missed your "fabulous coverage" !!! entirely cos I had the RF open for sooooo lonnng
