EDITEDI thought we should have a new thread to record the development of the two chicks who hatched successfully at Clywedog this year. UPDATE. One of the chicks was killed in an attempted goshawk predation on 18 July 2023.
The introduction to the nest and happenings between March and June 2023 on this Thread©
5F Seren, the female who has been here since 2020, returned from migration on 25 March 2023. The unringed Dylan, the male since 2016, returmed two days later. Eggs were laid on 13 April, 16 April and 19 April. The first egg hatched on 20 May, and the second egg 2 days after that. The third egg has not hatched and will not do so now.
A highlight was the visit on 12 May from 496, the only chick which fledged from this nest in 2021.
Carnyx Wild provide video streams; the current stream is available here. The link to the feed changes every 12 hours. There should be 2 cameras, but one has not been streamed so far this season due to condensation in the lens; it is hoped this may be changed when the chicks are ringed.
Other links to the Facebook page and John Williams blog are on the introduction to the first thread above.
Grateful thanks to those who are gifted enough to record images and videos from this lovely, mainly tranquil, scene.
UPDATE This thread will be used to record updates on this nest and the Llyn Clywedog area before the start of the 2024 season.

I'm back in action!
Mid-afternoon:
IMAGICAT
The pics on the left are au naturel - the upper one shows the horrid stick getting in everyone's way, the lower one shows it 2 hours later... with no-one having been anywhere near it!
The upper and lower on the right are the same snaps but with my pathetic efforts at emphasising the outlines of the sticks.

A misty start to the day - I haven't found anyone yet, had to check rollback for the end of the night session (which dropped out) and the start of the new one:
16 August - the rest of the day is nowhere to be found
17 August
Have not long logged on - from rollback, 8B2 flew in to the perch ~ 09:05--ish and stayed about 10 minutes.
He's back now (well he was, he's been out and back again while I've been trying to figure out why live screenshots are so fuzzy, and it's a UHD display):
He's gone now.
Seren was still here this morning - see the super fish she brought for 8B2!
Chosen for proof of Seren rather than size 'n quality of fish:
Fish:
Dylan - I hope! Cos there's no fish to be seen!
He's been on the nest a couple of tims since.
Must fly (me).

Ditto for the evening! (I have not been thru the day.)
8B2 is eating on the nest.

Dylan delivered early this morning (shortie):
Then Seren brought another good fish - 8B2 didn't make much headway with it, unsurprisingly, and left it on the nest - Dylan came and whisked it away (which I've not shown, this is just for the sake of proving Seren's presence):
I haven't done any more of the day's events.
Small fish portion per Dylan - and then I seem to have accidentally turned off the recorder so I have no more for the evening till now.

Late breakfish this morning, tho 8B2 had been on the net loads of times hoping for one - but it was worth waiting for, even tho he obviously wasn't starving, and Seren is still here:
Dylan brought supper (I haven't checked thru the day for other events):
