LINDY: You must have the most beautiful garden in the world. Oh, how I envy you.

ALL: People here have been searching the woods and fields for the wild morel mushrooms that appear in spring. In the past, most people have eaten the mushrooms they forage. This year, many folks are selling them, instead. They are getting $60 per pound, and often more!!! That's £48.30 per pound.

Diane: My goodness. Are you honing your mushroom foraging skills?

ANNETTE: I'm having trouble with my back, so I haven't been mushroom hunting. I told my neighbors that they could forage on my land and keep any mushrooms they find. They do kind things for me, and I try to do nice things for them. Sort of a barter economy.

Diane: Sounds like nice neighbors so a great trade-off.

Diane -- Sorry to hear about your back. That's rotten. I hope your nice neighbours find some of the valuable mushrooms!

Our garden is only small, but packed with things which bloom at this time of year. It gives us much pleasure.

Mabel, the early rising dog, went home yesterday much to my OHs relief. His sister (not Sue) is the person who looks after our Bonnie when we go away, so we are grateful. Bonnie was very tired after she left so must have been sleeping with one eye open!!

We had our downstairs loo refurbished last week and are really pleased with it.

Sad to see that George Logan has died. We saw Hinge and Bracket in Shrewsbury in the early 80s and laughed ourselves silly. We went to a fondu night with friends afterwards.

Lovely walk at the uni this morning, 8 cygnets have arrived. aaaah
