LM6 started to eat the fish on the nest.
LJ2 was seen flying in the background presumably chasing corvids.
LM6 continued to eat
It didn’t take too long, the fish was small. She swallowed the red tail.
Not even taking time to feak her beak, LM6 was straight back onto her precious eggs.
19.10 LM6 is calling and LJ2 comes to the nest.
LM6 gets up and leaves LJ2 tends to the eggs.
19.27 LM6 returns and tells LJ2 she wants back on the eggs.
After a few minutes they exchange places.
Just after 20.00 LJ2 returns. LM6 is calling.
LJ2 starts fiddling with a piece of bark.
He places it on LM6’s head.
Then moves it around the nest.
Soon after, LJ2 flies off.
20.30 Guess who’s back?! Hello again dear!
After a few minutes, LJ2 sets off to chase corvids again.
21.06 LJ2 returns again as darkness falls.
He was still on the nest with LM6 as the night cam came on at 21.13 and stayed until 21.37.
22.04 LM6 is snuggled down and it is now raining as well as still windy.
Looks like it rained for most of the night, LM6 lay deep in the cup.
05.20 LJ2 flew in to give LM6 a break.
He settled quickly on the eggs.
It was a soggy morning for LM6 on the nest. 09.20
11.20 the sun blinked through.
14.01 LM6 got up for a wing flap, tail shake and comfort break.
She was back within a minute
and on the eggs again.
15.10 LJ2 flew in with a fish to LM6’s calls.
a nice headless meal for LM6 who’s done most of the brooding until now.
Off she goes over the water
and round the trees to the right out of camera.
16.00 LM6 returns. LJ2 had just been cleaning out the egg cup and emerged with a feather in his beak!
LJ2 shakes the feather off and settles back on the eggs as LM6 lands.
She walks over to him, making soft contact calls and LJ2 moves out of the cup.
Off he flies as LM6 settles back down to incubate.
17.03 another changeover from LM6 to LJ2
LM6 to the perch for a preen.
After about half an hour, LM6 returns to the nest at 17.30
LJ2 leaves as LM6 settles down.
19.35 LM6 stands up off the eggs. She has a wing flap.
She waits until LJ2 comes down then flies off leaving him on egg duty.
20.15 LJ2 is still on the nest.
and LM6 on her preening perch.
