The birds have been sharing incubation very regularly this morning, each spending around an hour on the eggs.
12.52 another changeover. LJ2’s turn again.
and LM6 leaves.
Sandra P said:Super! Many thanks, Glider!
Thank you Sandra. It took me long enough to figure out what to do again!! I keep referring to your old notes!
Glad to have May up and running!
Lol, pleased that you kept them!
15.20 LM6 flies to the perch. LJ2 has been incubating.
LJ2 flew to the tree pole circled.
15.50 LJ2 flew onto the nest. He was looking upwards. He then started intruder chipping.
After a few minutes, LJ2 flew off.
LM6 stayed low in the nest but it didn’t come to anything.
I wonder if the intruder was Roli KA5, son of Blue 24 and HR7 from this nest in 2019?
He intruded again at Clywedog at 12.18 today, much to Seren’s annoyance,
17.20 LJ2 rejoins LM6 to take over incubation.
LM6 doesn’t let LJ2 stay long on the eggs as she is back at 17.28 to reclaim her spot. She does the old “drop a stick on the back”trick!
LJ2 reluctantly gets up and leaves.
As the day has gone on LM6 has begun to get hungry and has been fish calling since around 18.00 when LJ2 has been at the nest.
He’s managed a nice piece of bark
but no fish as yet. He returned at 20.50 again with nothing. LM6 looks empty cropped.
She continues to ask to be fed.
Unfortunately it’s getting late now and the darkness is falling. Night cam on at 21.19. LM6 will need to wait until tomorrow for a fish.
Tuesday 2nd May
Good morning LM6 was on the nest overnight with her quick comfort break at 04.22.
LJ2 took over incubation at 05.19, a few minutes after day cam came on.
LM6 had a good scratch and a preen on the perch
before returning to the nest at 06.15.
