NC0 surprised us all when she arrived back at Lowes first, with Laddie making his initial landing exactly 6 hours later. She laid her three beautiful eggs after almost near-perfect, precise intervals of 72 hours between each one. Both Laddie and NC0 have regularly exchanged incubation duties and have been very attentive to protect their eggs, and nest, from multiple intrusions during April. The hatching window will open around the 10th May, all being well.

Unknown said:Laddie did a circuit, then landed on the nest again, and took a fairly large piece of fish from NCO. Laddie sounded very happy.
I don't think I've heard him so excited to see that fish, Richard! lol
Laddie's flight back to the nest
He picked up the fish and transferred it to his talons
Off he went with his supper
Laddie didn't come into view over the Loch as NC0 settled on the eggs

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
It's been such a worry, Catlady. Let's hope normal service has now resumed

Good morning All,
Laddie arrived at 5:05 to take over incubation
NC0 returned at 6:30
The LS 'jumped' to show Laddie flying off
7:27 NC0 continuing to incubate
7:48 All as it should be this morning
Off to work shortly. BFN
Well, despite the good news I 'm chary of this nest now . Laddie is making a habit of disappearing . And I can't get Odin's disappearance out of my head and EJ's plight because of it (was it fishing line again? we'll never know) But Laddie bunking off is entirely another matter and I just can't take it. Maybe it's a second nest .....
Hi Cirrus,
I think it's fairly unlikely that that there is a second nest. There have been many intruders around so we can only surmise that he was away, keeping them at bay?
Laddie completed his second incubation at 8:55 after taking over 10 minutes beforehand (no fish involved)
While keeping NC0 company, geese were making a loud racket! Two were chasing another pair down the inlet
Laddie flew off a little while after
The goose chase continued. Both pairs came back out of the inlet (in the same place as above) and carried on with their antics over on the Loch where they then settled
NC0 took a quick comfort break at 12:20
She's still incubating at 13:18 (having a preen here)
