Continued from Manton Bay March/April 2023

The season so far: Blue 33(11) returned March 16 @ 12:58 and Maya on March 19 @ 06:54. Maya has laid four eggs on Apr 4 @ 15:52, April 7 @ 09:04, April 10 @ 07:03 and April 13 @ 08:08. The first egg is expected to hatch around 12 May.

Hi LAM - nice to see you posting. Yes, live fish brought to the nest are a worry!! Any plans to visit this year? My brother is fishing Rutland next week so hopefully we will be treated to some photos from the water. Boats can only sail so far and more look down into Manton Bay as the nest is well protected as there is a ridge under the water and boats cannot cross. He usually sails that way and gets the binos and camera out and stays a while having his lunch watching them :-) But please post you captures when you can - always nice to see other contributions :-)

33 returns with the fish. drop sit and moves up to the pike
33 flies off - two fish on the nest and Maya now pulling that pike out
#2 and #3 up for fish
#4 has raised its head and beak open
#3 had a bone stuck in its beak - glad to see Maya remove it
