HAPPY NEW WEEK!

I hope everyone has a joyful week. Sending love and healing to OG and EE.

I had thought that the Cardinals had chicks, but they don't yet. I think the male was just feeding his mate.

The neighbors' chickens were loose yesterday, and they visited my yard and laid eggs. I guess it was a belated Easter gift. Lol

Everyone here was busy covering their plants today. It's turning cold again, and we have a warning for heavy frost and maybe even light snow! We had a couple of hot days,  but we can't seem to settle into spring this year. It's predicted to stay chilly the rest of the month now.

Love to all.

  • Dibnlib - anniversary congratulations.
The jigsaw is a Ravensburger called Water Birds.
Lindy - thanks for the photos. That village has really gone to town hasn’t it? We have a Royal themed post box topper by my local shops. Next time I am there I will take a photo.
  • Good Heavens. Everyone must be busy. Happy Friday all.
  • Years ago I began researching our family history. With maternal & paternal lines, both mine and OH’s, there are about a dozen families. I have been working on writing up either a story or summary of each to pass to sisters & daughters. So far I have completed two. I love researching, finding out info. Recording facts is fine, but writing in an interesting way is not my thing. I re-read my stuff and it is so boring! Also I can understand why authors disappear to someone’s holiday shack to write up their book. I am on a roll and OH wanders in for a chat. He has nothing to say but just sits and waits for me to entertain him. Then it is time to prepare another meal or do household chores. <sigh>

  • Just a thought

Progress is man’s ability to complicate simplicity. (Thor Heyerdahl)

It isn’t where you come from. It’s where you’re going that counts. (Ella Fitzgerald)

Ignorance is the mother of research.

  • AQ - you can only do your best - and I admire you for having an enquiring mind. Frustrating, though....
  • RUSTY Thank you twice. I found the jigsaw on line but it is out of stock and no date for getting it back in. I will keep trying.
  • DIBNLIB - belated anniversary congratulations !
  • Belated Happy Anniversary, dibnlib!
Hope you're enjoying your couple of days away.

We've had a very busy day -- Bonnie was sick after eating her breakfast, which was worrying as she's had an upset stomach for a couple of days. We rang the vets & they couldn't see us till this afternoon, but after we had begun to plan our day around this, she rang us and said she could see us at 11.30 - off we dashed.

We came away after an injection, (anti sickness) and a talk (what's she'd eaten lately? - "awful things....." ) and advice, plus doggy paracetamol in case she's got a poorly tum.
  • My OH took our small car into the garage again, to discuss the water leak - he's put some sealant around a joint in the roof & after last night's rain, it was dry inside, hooray! The garage man said it's a particularly difficult problem when they can't find a source of leaks straight away. We paid him for his time the other day, and now have fingers crossed....

Then we went to nearby town for cheap(er) fuel than we can buy locally, and I stocked up on food in the giant Tesco.
  • LINDY - I hope that Bonnie will get better soon x
My daughters did my shopping today, I'm still not right, coughing for what seems to be all night. Anyway, it won't last for ever !
