This is a new thread following the Osprey nest at Alyth electricity sub station, located in the Perth and Kinross region.
The Ospreys have nested at the site for many years, first year was around 1990.
They were nesting on a nearby electricity tower, but due to a planned expansion of the site a decision was taken to resite the old nest to a specially constructed 25-metre nesting tower and two nearby 8.5 metre resting perches, which were erected in 2014. Advice was sought from Roy Dennis.Since that first breeding season in 2014, a total of 14 osprey chicks have been observed to have fledged from the new site.
The resident ospreys are called Harry and Flora, named by a local school in Alyth. All pupils were also given their own osprey soft toy as a thank you from the teams for getting involved and for showing such enthusiasm about the ospreys.

An unringed intruder flew in really quickly
and landed on Flora’s back
she didn’t take to this kindly
and stood up straight away
turning her shoulder to shrug him off and he quickly left.
Poor Flora, she looked around
then settled back on her eggs. (presuming she laid a 2nd yesterday)
Headless fish delivery 18.35
Flora takes it in her talons to leave the nest.
Flora returns with a wee piece of the fish.
Harry takes a minute to get up for it.
It’s in the furthest away talon so he has to move round to the other side.
They get into a bit of a pickle as Harry tugs to get the fish from Flora’s talons.
He eventually manages and flies off with his wee bite of supper.
The sun goes down on another eventful day. All looking peaceful now

Sandra P said: I hope she manages to peck it off, Glider!
Yes thankfully Sandra, she returned at 08.48 carrying some grasses and all looked well.
It’s a worry though.

Oh that is good news!
Yes it is a worry, Glider...
A peaceful start to today.
Followed by a noisy one as the field to the left was ploughed.
It started around 08.00 with Flora on the nest. They then changed over and it’s Harry pictured here. They were both looking at the tractor but didn’t seem too unfazed.
Later, a bit of mobbing and corvid chasing with Harry in the background. 10.29

Flora takes it in her beak
and flies off with it.
18.38 Fish delivery
Flora with her usual beak grab and fly!
Flora soon returned to the nest after eating her fish. She flew in from the field to the left,
over to the right
zigzagging back to the left
and swooping up to the nest clutching some little sticks/grasses.
