HAPPY NEW WEEK!

I hope everyone has a peaceful, safe, serene week!

  • Lindy - the new loos at Conwy RSPB are unisex. Drawings of a man and a woman on each separate unit. You would be OK there AQ. LOL!!!!!
Dibnlib - want a relief re Benson
AQ - I hope the buses work well for your dental appointment.
Re my visit to the dentist!! Well, the original appointment was to prepare for a new crown to replace a broken tooth. That went well. Then we looked at where the crown fell out yesterday. I have had a bit of an infection going on there for some time and it turns out I have a cracked root. Therefore an extraction is required!!! Help!!! A new crown can’t then be fitted so I will have to have a bridge. I hope I win the lottery soon!!!!! It is not an NHS dentist.
On the bright side, after another 90 minutes I got my friend’s iPad back and all her photos and data downloaded from the cloud. What a relief. It wasn’t without more password mix ups this morning but I persevered and reset everything. I have now written everything down very clearly for her.
After all that, I couldn’t cope with French so I went and sat in a local friend’s beautiful garden. She had suggested I might like to do that. We had a good catch up.
  • Hope DIANE is OK, just seen more picks of the Tornadoes devastation.

Virtual Hugs and Healing being sent

  • Bonnie seems quite happy at the Vets as long as she has her beloved Dad with her. We think she enjoys the attention!!

Other dogs we've had, were all terrified and hated the very smell of the place
  • Sorry, but I really do not like Unisex toilets.  It's a generalization, but men do have a tendency to leave the seat up and I don't like handling toilet seats used by all and sundry.  (When there's really no option, I use a seat cover or tp as a barrier).   When I was a kid, my mother used to shriek "don't sit on the seat!" over the door anytime we used public toilets, so I became quite good at hovering.  Here in California, public toilets must have a seat cover dispenser in each stall so no need for hovering, but it's different in different states.  :-)   Too much information?  Sorry!

Llindybird:  When I was 14 our school organized a trip to Italy.  In Milan, the public toilets were - literally - a hole in the tiled floor of the cubicle (my hovering skills came in very handy there).   Rhubarb crumble!  Yum!!   No idea what that insect is - but it looks like it has a hard shell (I associate those with cockroaches, but that doesn't mean anything).

AQ:  Ah so - and so you aren't driving because you're waiting for new specs?  Good luck with the buses. Hope you have better luck at the dentist than Rusty.

Rusty:  You are indeed a good friend - techy stuff (especially when it comes to other people's passwords) can be challenging.  I hope she doesn't lose that list. Did you keep a copy for future reference? Commiserations at the prospect and expense of a new bridge.

dibnlib:  Glad nothing serious with Benson.  How old is he now?

Off to take on the world.....

  • Rusty -- just seen your post about the Dentist. My sympathy- I've got some crowns and one of them is a bit niggly. I've got everything crossed that it will last for a while, or I'll need a bridge, too

We just ate a shepherds pie made from lamb leftovers and the remains of the rhubatb crumble. Satisfying on several levels (I hate waste) but not good for my waistline......oh dear.
  • AQ,: I'm very sorry that you are struggling with your eyesight. I deeply admire you for continuing to take your bus trips and other excursions. That takes courage. You are also providing care for your OH. You are a strong woman.

I can empathize with your efforts to work out transportation arrangements. I know from experience that it's not easy finding suitable options and schedules, walking to bus stops carrying a load of groceries, etc.--especially when we aren't young anymore. Take care of yourself.
  • SunnyKate2: Thanks so much for your kind words. It's always so nice to see you.
  • Lindy - oooo. Shepherds Pie and Rhubarb crumble. My sort of food!!!! Yum!!!!
Diane - glad to see you. I think of you being without a car and wi fi. Then having had that awful weather. You have had a lot to put up with lately. Thank goodness spring is coming.
It is going to be a lovely day here I think and I am going to do gardening. The grass, although it has had one cut, is very long so I must do that as soon as it dries out. I also want to prepare a space and put in the canes for my sweet peas. I will enjoy pottering and will stop for several breaks!!!! The chap who does the annual chop back of my bushes and shrubs is calling when he has finished work to discuss putting in a new fence panel at the bottom of the garden. The current panel has sort of disintegrated and is in pieces. I tried to repair it but have failed!!!!

  • DIANE – Thank you for encouraging words. However I think I am in a better position than you as I do have several bus options even if they are imperfect. I should stop grumbling.

Dentist visit. Receptionist says “I’ll tell the hygienist you are here. Andy [the dentist] is not in today; he’s sick”. Oh really, well I’m not coming back again for 6 months. Luck is with me; I have nothing to repair. Next on the agenda is the autumn flu jab. Ain’t life grand as one ages.

Lovely autumn day, another tomorrow (29 C). Much angst from campers as forecast for Easter is showers with temps in high teens.

  • Just a thought

Age is a very high price to pay for maturity.

I know I’m not perfect but I’m so close it scares me.

I’m smiling because I have no idea what’s going on.
