HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I hope everyone has a peaceful, safe, serene week!
Evening all: Seems like we've all been busy with techy stuff and/or gardening.
AQ: I'm sure I've asked you a dozen times, but what's going on with your eyes?
Daughter and I took Pearl for nice stroll along the bluffs by the beach this morning; chatted with other people, some also with dogs, out and about in the sunshine. I had one eye out for whales, but there's typically a lull at this time in the migration between the unaccompanied adults and the cows/calves that swim close to shore. As it was, fog was wafting about offshore so couldn't see very far anyway.
Take care all.
Good Morning. Nice walk by the sound of it, Annette. AQ - Hope you enjoyed the bus trip. Coincidentally, we were discussing the signage for loos whilst we were in the airport to come home - their signs were somewhat ambiguous & my OH says he's worried that he'll end up in the wrong one & embarrass everyone! The airport has been updated since we were last there and new loos added, which is good as there were not enough previously, but the modernity of it means that its not clear what's where. I noticed sitting opposite that the mens facility had a big door which could be left open - why on earth don't they just build a "turn the corner" entrance, which you find here in some motorway services, so no need for entrance doors?
My OH pulled some rhurbarb yesterday so I made a rhubarb crumble last night - not exactly on my diet sheet but I had a portion with custard!
EDIT: AQ -- the fields are green with new crops of oats, which have enjoyed the recent wet weather.
ANNETTE – In brief, operated eye is on a 2 month recall to eye specialist. Other eye is waiting for new glasses to be made. On previous experience, I doubt they will be correct when they eventually arrive sometime later this month.
LINDA – I think we have a rule? bi-law? that there has to be 2 doors between the toilet/s and the outer world.
My deferred dentist check-up tomorrow pm. They rang & offered me a cancelation – at 8.30 am. If I could drive, I would have said yes. But alas the bus, a suburban connector, northbound is infrequent at that hour. Fine if I want to go south.
Poor Benson, dibnlib - he must have thought "Why am I here again?" Better safe than sorry, though. Nice to see nesting swans. AQ -- I hope you can get to the dentist alright. We thought that the toilets we found on a motorway were sensible, as no door handles needed except when leaving a cubicle, when of course, you should then be washing your hands. Not that everyone does, I'm afraid to say! Heather- I travelled through France when I was just 21, about a hundred years ago. I was not impressed with the loos, and the ones on the campsites were indescribable!! (When I returned & told my mother, she shrugged and said "Oh, The French!" as if it explained everything, LOL!)
Editing my holiday snaps, I found this fascinating creature which I discovered on our terrace flying around. Luckily it stopped and landed on a sun umbrella stand so I was able to catch this image.
I'm sure someone will be able to tell me what insect it is????
