All the HISTORY of Balgavies Loch Ospreys can be found at the start of the 2019 THREAD.
It is a SWT Nature Reserve near Forfar, Angus, Scotland. There is no webcam on the nest, and there is no Visitor Centre, only a small Hide with limited car parking spaces.

The nest failed in 2020 and 2019 but the new male KR3 and Unringed female returned in 2021 and raised 3 chicks.
In 2022 the nest collapsed but the one chick Blue 640 survived and went on to be a well fed and cared for chick.
Mary Rogers along with her husband found the chick when the nest collapsed and set in motion a chain of events that resulted in it being ringed Blue 640 which has proved very beneficial as you can see from my following post. Mary named the chick "The Bairn"

I have only been home 6 days this month so trying to catch up is a challenge.
Darren sent me some of his photos of the chicks/juvenile - Blue 718 the female has fledged and the other two male chicks are due to fledge any hour now.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Yes as Alan has said all three have successfully fledged. I am still trying to catch up so sorry for the delay in posting.
Here is a link to Darren's post about the two boys fledging.
BALGAVIES LOCH OSPREYS
Darren sent me photos last night of all three juveniles flying around the Loch. They are stunning photos as always.
KR3 with a humungous trout
All three chicks at Blue YD's nest in Fife have fledged now.
They have gone from when they were being ringed on 13th July by Robin Manson and James Silvey (the guys who also rung the Balgavies chicks)
To flying around when Darren last visited the nest a couple of nights ago.

Some more excellent photos from Darren of the male and three chicks. The chicks are seen regularly attempting to fish too, being beside the water probably encourages them to have a go.

He had his fair share of this one
