The nest failed in 2020 and 2019 but the new male KR3 and Unringed female returned in 2021 and raised 3 chicks.
In 2022 the nest collapsed but the one chick Blue 640 survived and went on to be a well fed and cared for chick.
Mary Rogers along with her husband found the chick when the nest collapsed and set in motion a chain of events that resulted in it being ringed Blue 640 which has proved very beneficial as you can see from my following post. Mary named the chick "The Bairn"

Thank you Mary and Darren for his amazing photos, they are absolutely fantastic. Great for the pair to be back.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Darren visited Blue YD's nest yesterday. The female from last season had not arrived yet (at that time). He sent me some fab photos and a short video of BLUE YD working on his nest.
A very short video
Darren is a star, and so are you Mary, for sharing his incredible pictures and the video. Thank you so much!
I'm also delighted that KR3 and his mate are making use of the temporary nest that was erected close to the end of last season, brilliant!
Thank You Sandra - Fingers crossed that the nest holds up, and everything goes well this season
Glider - Thanks re Darren's photos, his set up is fantastic, don't know how he can even carry the gear, think I'd using a pram ha ha
Karen - Thanks - I always feel it is such a privilege to see such close up photos of the Balgavies Ospreys and also Blue YD, and the best bit of it all is that Darren shares his photos so freely, he is such a genuine person.
