After the tragedy of 2021, the 2022 Season was a great success, with 3 beautiful youngsters fledging and migrating - Blue 497, 498 and 499 (courtesy of Glider):

Here's to the safe return of our precious pair, MrsG (thank you MaryGK for the original snap) and Aran:

Today, this year's indispensable volunteers gathered to give us a Group Wave, and I thought we should pay tribute to them here:

(How sparse this seems for a season OP - but it's all I've got to give.  I think we need the new thread sooner rather than later, being mindful of the likelihood of Dovey Devils and/or Clywedog Kids swooping in RoflBlue heart )

  • Let's hope there's no spider's web on it, too :)))

Not a lot tor report this morning, he's been pottering and fishing, I got these snaps carelessly from Cam2 rollback - it looks like the same dry fish he had on day one:

  • I've just read on chat that KA5(19) (Roli), son of B24 and HR7, paid a visit to the nest perch at 15:09 ish!  Hugging

  • Hello Roli WaveHeart️ Hope you find a nest this year. Hugging
  • 16.15 Skydancing heard then Aran brings a fish to the perch.

  • He also called in to Glaslyn last year, on 26 April. So possibly he was establishing a territory last year. He visited Dyfi in May as well.
    Returned 26 April Seen Glaslyn
    5 May intruded at Dyfi.
13 June intruded at Glaslyn - missing a secondary in his left wing.
17 June intruded at Clywedog, escorted away by Dylan.

  • Thanks for Roli's info from last season, Sheila Thumbsup
  • Thanks everyone. Haven't looked at this forum much at all in the last couple of days--too glued to the live streams here and elsewhere. Happened to watch the first female visit to the Glaslyn nest and Aran live. The second female was far darker than the first and more 'polite', to use an inappropriate term! Think it likely that both were just passing through and taking advantage of the free fish bar--a normal occurrence for lone males with a nest along any of the routes to Scotland and The North. But considering the number of female intruders last year, if only some of them return this year, there is a good chance that one will settle with Aran. Even if none do, then he will have another chance when the two year olds come back in May or later, even if that means there might only be bonding this year but with a hope for chicks in 2024. The Glaslyn nest is in a prime position, truly a des res, and I have high hopes (as in the song--Lol!) that he will get another partner eventually if the miracle of Mrs G returning does not happen.

    Kind regards, Ann

  • Maybe happier days Scylla  , about  07.40 am did she lift her tail , spidie web made it hard to judge

YES ! according to Vee Robson on Chat she did - this is the ''nicer '' URF and I think Mrs G would approve but she is probably inexperienced so I trust Aran will bulk out the nest appropriately

  • I'm wasting time trying to catch up with last evening, CIRRUS, but see the action on the nest. BBL.
