Dorcha bringing her one and only fish on 18th August 2022 before departing and not being seen again
Louis incubating the eggs while Aila is seen flying with a fish in the misty distance on 9th May 2020.
All captures in whatever format are copyright Woodland Trust - with many thanks for allowing captures from their nest cam livestreams
Nest One is seeing a lot of action recently - following on from an unlikely pair (Affric & LV0) turning up together this morning, now Louis turns up with a fish! He doesn't stay long, arrives at 15.45.49 and departs at 15.46.10. He takes his fish with him, and goes away for a good munch before turning up with it, now half-eaten, on Nest Two ninety minutes later.
17.15.54 Fish number two - pretty sure it's the remains of the Nest One fish at 15.45, it's been an hour and a half since he showed up there, Louis had plenty of time to eat it and go catch another. However - would he eat the head off a second fish so soon after the first? Therefore going with it's the returning 15.45 fish
Nest Two looks magnificent floating in the mist
04.53.45 Fish number one, headless trout, arrives. Dorcha starts eating on the nest before departing with it at 04.55.20
This one's just short of season's earliest (04.51.01 on 10th May)
Nest One:
06.21.55 Big bird flies from the gap flying in the distance from right to left passing near the solar panels
06.28.57 Very distant bird flies left to right, black speck silhouetted against the low band of white cloud. Gets slightly larger as it disappears through the oak leaves of the logo.
06.30.18 Louis lands on Nest One giving little warning chirps. No one else visible on cam view, no other calls heard. He flies in from the gap between the knolls, he's visible from 06.30.09.
Must have headed straight over after leaving Nest Two at 06.25.34
14.48.37 A late lunch arrives. Can’t see what it is, it’s covered in vegetation.
Glider said:Thank you Geemeff. I do like Dorcha’s hearty call! I would say brown trout for the fish!
Hearty! That's a good word, more polite than 'strident'.
19.31.59 Fish number three - Louis brings supper.
Nice early breakfast. Fish number one 06.16.53
