2022 return dates: LM12 (Laddie) - 13th March; NC0(16) - 23rd March
Looking forward to welcoming back Laddie and NC0 to this wonderful location at Loch of the Lowes. Will Laddie, in his 12th season, beat his earliest arrival date that he achieved last year? Will NC0, her 4th season, be heard before she is seen on cam? Could we see the return of their 2021 offspring, LR1 and LR2? Here's hoping they have safe, spring migrations so as to grace our screens once again.

From 10:05ish
Laddie rose from incubation, gave his wings a flap and left the nest. He had been with the eggs since NC0 had left with her breakfish
He was gone for less than a minute
It wasn't long after Laddie had settled when NC0 flew over the nest, still with a sizeble remainder of fish in her talons
She arrived back at the nest with her meal
She didn't stay long and left again
After a flight around the top of the birch tree, chasing a crow I think, she settled on a branch
Both in their same positions at 11:15

11:57ish Laddie decided his shift was up and flew off the nest; NC0 was still on the birch
NC0 made her flight back to the nest
She still had some of the fish in her talons
NC0 loosened her grip of the fish in her right talons and settled on it and the eggs
At 13:24ish, NC0 moved the fish out of the nest cup to the edge of it, behind the front edge sticks
Fish transferred to her talons and placed
14:10 Laddie arrived, he'd spied the fish piece when hovering down to the nest, picked it up then flew off with it in his beak!

The LS has improved greatly this afternoon, Glider (said in a whisper and holding my fingers tightly crossed!)
At 17:34ish, Laddie arrived at the nest, NC0 had been scanning the sky just beforehand
He gave a couple of chips
Both he and NC0 were watchful after that
He flew off after spending almost 6 minutes on the nest, the majority of it being very quiet
NC0 has been quietly incubating since then. Here she is at 18:48
Just after 19:00, NC0 rose up from the eggs and left the nest
A flap of her wings before heading off
She veered off directly left rather than going to the birch (top, left of pic)
Laddie straight onto the nest, making a contact call as he approached and on landing
The third egg appears to have a red splodge pigment in the centre, between the two white ends
She was back at 20:04
Look how completely white the opposite side of the third egg is
He flew off and NC0, quite possibly, began her nightly incubation duty
