2022 return dates: LM12 (Laddie) - 13th March; NC0(16) - 23rd March
Looking forward to welcoming back Laddie and NC0 to this wonderful location at Loch of the Lowes. Will Laddie, in his 12th season, beat his earliest arrival date that he achieved last year? Will NC0, her 4th season, be heard before she is seen on cam? Could we see the return of their 2021 offspring, LR1 and LR2? Here's hoping they have safe, spring migrations so as to grace our screens once again.

9:04 Laddie to the nest with a headless fish - unknown if it is a fresh one or the one from last night that NC0 may have taken, then brought back, while the cam was offline this morning
She left the nest
Laddie left the fish and headed to incubate
10:15 NC0 on the birch, Laddie still incubating
10:21 NC0 returned
Laddie flexing his wings in the breeze before leaving. The fish still on the nest
NC0 resumed her incubation

The cam has been zoomed in on the nest since 12:00
Sleepy
12:37
12:38 Laddie arrived and flew off with the fish
13:15 NC0 was very much in alert mode. After looking around and scanning the sky, she made several alarm calls and shot off the nest.
The egg was uncovered for almost a couple of minutes before Laddie arrived, still with the fish tail. He stood on the nest for 10 minutes or so before beginning incubation
Fish in the nest cup but Laddie retrieved it
The fish was left on the nest behind him
NC0 returned at 14:01
Cont'd...
14:01
She found the fish tail. Laddie flew off
Close up of egg #1
Tucking into the fish
14:10sh She took it off nest, making a contact call
Laddie arrived to take over
NC0 back at 14:26ish
Off he went
14:36
A possible intruder around at 14:43ish. Laddie onto the nest and the cam panned out
Zoomed in again
The wind assisted Laddie's take off from the nest. It didn't appear that he was going to give chase
16:20 NC0 was making soft contact(?) calls
She used her wings to assist when backing up from the nest cup
She looked around
Laddie incoming
She was still chattering away
Laddie hovered onto NC0's back for a mating attempt...
He slipped off and flapped back onto the nest. Perhaps the wind was too breezy
He took flight
NC0 hadn't been settled on the egg for very long when Laddie flew in with a stick...
...and landed on top of NC0!
Oooh, careful with that placement Laddie - the stick went over the egg and his talons were close too!
NC0 took off...
Laddie was settled in incubating at 16:27
NC0 returned at 17:28ish
Laddie eventually got up! lol
He left the nest
17:35 Laddie came back to the nest
Dual preening!
Looking in the same direction
He used his wings to help him get up the the edge of the nest
And away again
He could be seen heading past the birch area (not shown) so hopefully he went off to fish
18:31 NC0 was intently looking skyward
Laddie arrived with a small stick
Both were silently watching
NC0 off for a break at 18:33
At present (18:55) Laddie is still incubating in the evening sun
