HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I hope everyone has a wonderful, joyful week!
Thanks to everyone who expressed concern for me. We did indeed have polar vortex cold in my area last week, but I'm okay. I should be able to feel my toes by June. LOL! Hope bjane is alright.
The male red cardinal comes every night just before it's completely dark, and he gets a wasp from the nest in my porch window. You could set your watch by him. I think the protein has helped him survive the extreme cold. I hope he shares with his mate. I think he's getting low on wasps, so the next time I walk to town, I'm going to try to get him a bag of sunflower seeds. I hope the little general store has them.
Friday was the exact mid-point day between the winter solstice and the spring equinox, and I'm hoping for an early spring. Sunday is the full moon in the UK and the US.
Hugs to all of you who are facing adversity. I am also having trouble sleeping, and my dreams have been wild. Love to all.
HEATHER – Your s-i-l has been in the wrong city. Perth has been suffering a heatwave but here in Adelaide for the last week we have had temps 20-22 C. Most people are moaning about the cold summer. Not me!
PAT - Come over here; we can manage low 20s for a few more days. Later this week it will climb to 33 C. Dry heat, so bearable.
Only one degree here at the moment! And going down tonight ... ... ah, well, its only February. Our snowdrops opened today in the warmth of the wintery sunshine. We also had a stunning sky tonight, here, as the sun set-- lots of terrific pictures of it now on social media.
LINDA – My bulb patch is so confused by our changeable weather that some bulbs that normally sprout green shoots in Autumn (for spring flowering) are appearing already. I think they are my precious Scilla peruviana.
HEATHER – Perth is a long way from the Equator; 3,552.98 km. It is not that much further north than Adelaide, 3 degrees latitude, about 330 km or 210 miles. Our state usually gets WA’s weather a few days later as the westerlies blow. I am guessing Perth would have humid weather as the wind blows in from the Indian Ocean.
Thanks AQ for that info ! I've got a lot to learn.
