HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY FULL MOON and HAPPY TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE!
The eclipse occurs in the wee hours of the morning on Tuesday. It will be visible in the U.S. and Australia, but not in the U.K. However, many sites will stream it online with commentary.
I'll put a link to a nice list of online streaming science sites in a post below.
This is the last total lunar eclipse until 2025.
Everyone have a joyful week.
We left via a mountain road, taking us to the centre of that part of Lanzarote, and a large town which had been adapted to one way streets to cope with the traffic -- and so we promptly got lost! Ha ha! -- later, we realised that in fact, we had got lost in the exact same place over 20 years ago!!!
Eventually, we found our way through the maze and headed down a scenic road towards the coast again.
We came to a tiny coastal place, where the locals were enjoying their Sunday, on the beach and the children's playground.
There was even a pier, in British style!
We enjoyed an al fresco lunch under a screened roof - I had Spanish Omelette, and my OH had a yummy bean stew with fries. Then we headed 'home' again.
Our walk the next day along the promenade near our hotel.
A view from my lounger in the hotel garden of the sea, as a small flotilla of yachts passed, we decided they were learning to sail.
Another part of the grounds.
Two nights before we went home, we had a pretty sunset which I recorded from our balcony.
As we were driven to the airport, I got a chance to snap some new inhabitants of a roundabout.
But I only got the hind legs of his mother!!
Goodbye to an interesting, if hot, place to explore.
