  • Super captures, Korky. Thank you. Both juvies and Asha certainly had a good feed of her fish. Long over due IMHO!! And where on earth is Axel.
Asha held on to the remains of the fish, not allowing either juvie to have control, and is now giving them fourths, or may be more!

  • 17.55  Asha flew off with the tail end, still a substantial meal for who is lucky to have it.  Although looking at it in slomo it looks as though there is a lot of skin and perhaps not too much meat.  But better eyes than I have might be able to say!

  • 18.06 Axel arrives with #3 FISH.  He is concerned that Asha isn't there and holds on to the fish until her return.

It is a whole fish.  I have to say I initially wondered whether it was KL5.  I've almost forgotten what Axel looks like, we see him so rarely, and that is really fleeting!

He left as soon as Asha landed.  She is now feeding 1C2.  1C1 has taken the remains of #2 fish which Asha brought back.

Very sorry but I've been so out of sorts today

Scylla, we all hope you are cheered up by the 3 fish that have been delivered today and I hope there's some left over for you to enjoy Hugging

I sure am, KORKY, and shouldn't quibble but it would have been nice if Axel had done better - yet that's balanced out by Asha, I hope she'll be making it a habit from now on, our juvies need mega building up for their first migration in a very few weeks!

Talking of "mega", special thanks to SHEILA for all that hard work!

I've sorta done the peaceful intruder, here's hoping he found good fishing:

    .

I'm not up to date - has anyone seen 1C1 fly since yesterday? Thinking She had such a good flyaround and landing, I'm surprised if she's nervous to get going again.

  • 18.05 minnow.

  • Yep ..''.it would have been nice if Axel had done better''. Mistle simply should't  be fishing for her family yet ,so as far as I am  concerned the jury is still out in regard to Axel..  Mrs G is still being provisioned by Aran  as well as the  family. This is how it should be . Mistle needs to build up her reserves too. Hopefully, next year.

Mmmm, having watched the playback, I think Asha landed with fish number 4 just after Axel brought fish number 3. Confused.com.

EDIT. Asha feeds IC2 with the fish number 4 she brought and IC1 self feeds with Axel's fish 3.

  • I am tending to agree, Cirrus. He did well as a new breeder in incubating, and I think he considered feeding the chicks, but as they grew his devotion to duty has been very intermittent. He looks terrified if he returns with a fish and Asha isn't around. After the disaster of George I do have concerns, but I will hold the faith.
