No wonder there was such a violent reaction from !C2 - he gave Asha's head a hard peck and she fled for a moment, soon back. 1C2 won the (disappointingly small) fish:
My 1C1 fledge video is still in many pieces waiting to be joined up but I don't have the energy - thanks for your timely videos, BART!
Thank you so much Trevor for your fish report, and Scylla's fish delivery vid. I know they are first time breeders, but I think they haven't read the last chapter, which says they both bring in fish now, until Asha leaves and Axel sticks around until the last juvie has left on migration! Where on earth have they both been today. Granted Asha was on the perch with one of them for a while, but no fish isn't the done thing!! Given they have only just fledged, and now officially 'juvies', they still have another three weeks or so to hone their flying skills before migration. www.imagicat.com/LGmigration.html not posh, sorry.

I agree Sheila. A bit worrying. The juvies need to pack in the protein even more than ever to help build flight muscles.
Sorry Sheila They were fighting and mantling like young goshawks over the food… Usually they are much more distinguished
Just spotted this on the RSPB LG Facebook page 'Both our osprey chicks have fledged this morning. Here is a shot of the older brother taking off. In a strange turn of events we have a blue ringed intruder that joined them for their first flight this morning with a possible leg ring reading of Blue AL5 or KL5.' Perhaps Axel has been seeing off the intruder, so no fish......
That's interesting Korky. I noticed at 10.33 (my post 18.25hs):
"10.33 1C2 is on the perch, 1C1 and Asha are on the dead tree, with Asha lower than 1C1.
1C2 begins to mantle as another osprey flies over, and around. Asha took off and two osprey were seen flying in the sky. No calling heard. Asha touched down on the dead tree and was off again."
I thought it might have been an intruder by 1C2's reaction. Good lad! Asha must have escorted it away.
