link to JUNE 2022
1st fish of July 2022 arrived at 07.34. Not too shabby an effort! Headless trout delivered by LJ2 whilst LM6 was off the nest. She soon followed on to collect the fish.
It looks like it was a nice calm morning.
LM6 and the chicks got a couple of feeds off this fish before LJ2 took it away. He returned with what was left at around 10.40.
LJ2 started eating it on the nest. Chick #2 came to see if it could get any and LJ2 gently fed it a few pieces before finishing it off.

Thanks Karen, yes I just dip in and out of the nest when I can and most of my observations are from rewind! Hopefully I’ll catch it though whenever it happens!
The fish piece was brought back to the nest. Both chicks have been tackling it. X6 is eating it here when KA9 tries some flying jumps. (Around 10.30)
Unfortunately, this nest stream stops and starts with time delays and pixelation so the captures aren’t as clear as they could be but KA9 managed a few inches off the nest.

Both chicks go for it together and end up holding it in their beaks at the same time.
KA9 wins the tussle and claims the fish.
However, X6 manages to get it back to eat.
19.36 and KA9 doesn’t have to wait long for the next fish. The chicks can see LM6 and start calling. She arrives on the nest.
As the chicks move in for the fish, KA9 at LM6’s head, she lets go and the fish flaps under some twigs.
KA9 doesn’t manage to get it and LM6 retrieves it in her beak.
X6 doesn’t ask to be fed and moves away, leaving LM6 feeding KA9.
LM6 stays on the nest after the feed
Suddenly at 20.00, LM6 mantles and starts chipping looking all around, the chicks pancake.
