12:06   Maya arrives with a headless fish and taken by 1H3

Maya flies off and 1H3 tucks in

Now I wonder if she caught this and has eaten the head or  if 1H2 dropped the fish she earlier took off with and Maya has picked it up ???

12:32  1H3 finishes and flies off leaving the fish

1H1 arrives and has her share

12:48   something bothering 1H1 - starts wing flapping

and then flies off with the fish

13:41  Fish - 33 arrives

and Maya snatches it

33 flies off and 1H2 takes the fish from Maya who doesn't resist :-)

Maya flies off -  and 1H2 tucks in

14:10  Maya returns and takes the fish from 1H2 who appears to have finished

Maya then flies off with it

1H2 follows  -  ENS

Good Evening All
Pleased you enjoyed the on the spot reports Karen and with eyes on the ground we can help fit the missing pieces together to get a fuller picture of how these fantastic birds operate! Yes wonder if indeed from your afternoon updates, thank you very much, if it was the same fish returning having been picked up off the beach..... in Senegal! Lol!
It was absolutely fascinating to see it all going on seems like we learn something new on every visit!
Yes need to recoup sharpish as Carry on Glaslyn is round the corner :-) Funny how we were so disorientated that we went to a bird hide without binoculars! No wonder Glider said remember your equipment : -)
We need to get our strength up as Glaslyn 8 days, could only be the start of it as we'd like to be back at Manton Bay for another 3 days and perhaps Foulshaw and Esthwaite for another 3! Oh gosh we're going to be doing well to keep going that long under canvas! Not a massive tent either :-)

A very busy schedule ahead - I don't know how you do it LAM - obvious you love these ospreys to bits :-)

20:30   1H3 finishes and 1H1 moves in and takes the fish

1H3 flies off and 1H1 tucks in while 1H2 stands by

then takes off with the fish

I have a very early start tomorrow so opting to close down July's thread just now and start up what will be the last new thread of the 2022 season for sadly the time is approaching when this family will be heading south.
