All quiet on the Osprey front. Mistle started gently food soliciting, then quiet, then stood up to reveal.........
,, what appeared to be a half eaten rainbow trout! No doubt Scylla will be able to get a much sharper image than me. All this happened about 5:45. It was as stiff as a board. When was that delivered?
Afrer faffing around getting images 1 of them has come back to the nest and is incubating - can't tell which.
Some people think Ospreys are a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.
Fergus has been away.

That explains it. He has forgotten and continues to forget they don't have names. Apart from on here.
Mistle calls and then, not finding Axel, takes a short comfort break. Eggs visible.
EDIT: After seeing scylla's video next page I realize it is Axel that returns after she flies off.

I am back from my intense week, and just recovering as well as catching up. Have perused the interesting aggression reports, along with Em's estimation of the possible reason. And yes, it is the first time I have ever observed such food solicitation from the male. Was Axel learning it from Mistle?

Mistle arrives with a contact chirp and is food soliciting. Axel remains on the eggs. She flies to the perch and he leaves. (Apparently somewhere I have missed a coming and going!) Now she is settling on the eggs.
