Just as we had hoped, the middle of May proved to be a wonderful time with three successful hatches. Laddie, with his prolific fishing skills, is providing extremely well for his family and NC0’s attentive feeding for all three Osplets, is an absolute joy to watch! Let's hope everything continues to go well.

Glider said: Well well well, we’re no further forward! lol Neither of the chicks could be sexed - is this unusual? LR0 sits with the sequence of the chicks from last year, LR1 and LR2. LP8 is more random. I know there is no pattern to what ringers use and it’s just what they have at the time. For me personally, I just like when chicks from the same clutch have rings that are in sequence as it makes it easier to remember them!
As I understand it RD sells Darvics to the ringers and it is only the ringers who normally know the destination of the rings.
Ringers then use the rings as they choose. When an osprey is seen on return RD knows which ringer had the ring but not the bird. So the ringer supplies details.I presume the system is efficient as most young ospreys are never seen again.

Good morning all,
7:14 A bit of a damp day and still awaiting breakfish to be delivered
From scroll back,
A large breakfish was delivered at 9am
Another fish at 10:17ish
Fish #3 at 10:48ish
BFN
I can't find any other fish deliveries since those this morning.
19:00 LR0 stretching its wings
I hope Laddie is ok. Still awaiting another fish delivery.
21:45 LR0 behind LP8. NC0 is above the cam
Edit: 21:49 NC0 flew from the cam post but returned to it almost immediately
A whopper of a 'live' perch was delivered by Laddie at 22:03
NC0 had left the cam post calling, she must have seen Laddie flying from left to right above the Loch. She made her approach back to the nest, Laddie continued to the right before coming to land with his catch
LR0 on the left
Interestingly, part-way through the feed, both had separate large pieces of fish
LR0 ate its one then took this piece from LP8
