Just as we had hoped, the middle of May proved to be a wonderful time with three successful hatches. Laddie, with his prolific fishing skills, is providing extremely well for his family and NC0’s attentive feeding for all three Osplets, is an absolute joy to watch! Let's hope everything continues to go well.

The chicks were still relatively full from their mammoth feeds last night.
#1 had some bites. #3 declined this piece of fish
Some for #2
Both the older chicks settled down. #3 half-heartedly took a small piece that was offered then turned away
NC0 discarded the fish tail and settled to brood

NC0 returned from a comfort break at 5:25ish, the chicks were offered more from the fish tail
NC0 swallowed the fish skin. The whopper of a fish, that Laddie brought to the nest at 20:40 last night, has fed the whole family many times over!
At 6:42, the cam zoomed onto the chicks while NC0 was off the nest. Gorgeous babies!
#3 could hardly hold its head up as it was so sleepy. #2, centre, preening
NC0 returned with a small stick
7:26 Another comfort break for NC0 and another zoom on the chicks
At 8:10, #1 expelled a pellet
NC0 headed over to the left side of the nest to check it out
Good morning, Patily. That was #1 who disturbed their peace, lol
9:58 NC0 returned from a break with a piece of bark
She accidentally stepped back and stood on #3
It got up
Then lay back down. NC0 did some bark placement
NC0 preening
10:14 NC0 fish calling
10:16 Laddie arrived with a stick!
He placed it on the left side of the nest
NC0 didn't want it there so picked it up to move it. In doing so, she knocked the stick into #1
Then placed the awkward stick (or part of it as it was quite chunky) at the back, right of the nest
Glider said:Beautiful family
Absolutely beautiful, Glider - heartwarming.
IMAGICAT
Fish from Laddie at 11:57 - mantling and chipping when landing with it
NC0 collected the fish (headless, I think)
Both on alert
NC0 began the feed while Laddie continued to chip
First bite to #3
To #1. #2 had been offered a piece or two prior to this
A chunk of fish was given to #1 but it dropped it. #3 was getting some pieces
To #2. Laddie chipped on occasion
More for #3
Laddie really wasn't happy - chipping and alarm calling - as NC0 continued to feed the chicks
He left when the feed had ended at 12:09
NC0 called for fish when Laddie had gone. The chicks looked fully satisfied
